… It says, while they were there, while they were there, the time came for the baby to be born. And she gave birth to her firstborn, a son. And she wrapped him in cloths and placed him in a manger because there was no guest room available for them. I like that. She wrapped him in cloths. These two kids being born this week are going to be wrapped in cloths and placed in a hospital. Jesus was placed in a manger because there was just no room available for them. write down this next point. Unlikely is God's most likely. This is just how he moves. If it's unlikely, in God's kingdom, it's most likely. And it's like, Joe and Mary having the Messiah in a barn with all the sheep, man? Like what? he was not born like five-star hotel. He was not born 90210. He was not born to the most prestigious and elite family. He was born in a manger. Because if it's unlikely, when it comes to God, it's most likely. …

… the just humbleness of it. And then the angel of the Lord goes out to find somebody. You know, the messenger says, somebody's gotta come see this. The Messiah, the Lord has been born and he goes out and he finds the night shift shepherds. Remember the shepherds were the lowest rung in society among Jewish people in the first century, and the knights of shepherds were the lowest of the low. And the messenger says, behold, I bring you good news of great joy for all people, not just some, but for all people. For unto you this day in the city of David is born a savior who is Christ the Lord. Savior was a term that was used both of God and of kings and warriors. It meant deliverer, rescuer. And the emperor took on that title himself. He was the savior of the world, he thought, when the Romans said. And then there's the title Christ. Christ is the Greek version of the Hebrew Messiah, which means anointed one, one in a sort of shorthand usually for king. …

… It's amazing. Behold, I bring you good news of great joy for all the people. All the people. For unto you this day in the city of David is born a Savior, who is Christ the Lord. And this shall be a sign to you, he says. you'll find a baby wrapped in swaddling clothes and lying in a manger. In a manger? Our Savior, the Christ, the Lord? By the way, those three titles are really important. Savior is a term that's used of God and also of other earthly kings and warriors. It means deliverer, rescuer. The Emperor Augustus, who ordered the census, he took on the title of Savior of the world. And Christ is a word, it's not Jesus' last name. It means in Hebrew, Messiah is the, Mashiach is the Hebrew, means anointed one. It typically was shorthand for king. So he is the savior, he is the king. And then he's the Lord. And the Lord is the highest authority in a given realm. …

Humble Beginnings | Chad Veach

… Verse seven. And she gave birth to her firstborn, a son. She wrapped him in cloths and placed him in a manger because there was no guest room available for them. There was no room available for the Messiah. There was no room. There was no room. I wonder how much room is left for Jesus in your life. I wonder if there's room for God to move, room for God to speak. I wonder how much space God has in your life. God just needs a place where he's welcome and he'll do the rest. Not where he's tolerated. You ever be somewhere socially and you could tell, I don't know if these people want me here. God doesn't need a place where he's tolerated. All right, Jesus, if you want to, you can show up. God always shows up where he's invited. He shows up where he's welcomed. Wherever we pull out the red carpet and say, you're the honored guest here, God shows up in all of his glory and in all of his power. …

… with Mary, his betrothed, who was with child. And while they were there, time came for her to give birth, and she gave birth to her firstborn son, wrapped him in swaddling clothes, just as you would any child, not wrapped him in moonbeams and unicorn dust, laid him in a manger because there was no room for them in the inn. There is absolutely nothing in that paragraph that sounds like a fairy tale. And everything in that paragraph to show that Luke means to tell us a story that is accurate, precise, verifiable, and historic. So the third talks about his sources, talks about his approach, and then third and finally, he talks about his purpose. we see in verse 4 he is writing to a man called Theophilus now we don't know exactly who this man is can break apart his name Theos God Philus like Philadelphia city of brotherly love so this is a his name means God lover or friend of God it seems he was an important man because he's given the title the most excellent Theophilus This is not something you just give to your friends in the book of Acts, which Luke also wrote. …

… but all the days she had to walk through. And she brought forth her firstborn son and wrapped him in swaddling clothes and laid him in a manger because there was no room for them in the end. Now there were in the same country shepherds out in the fields keeping watch over the flock by night. And the angel of the Lord stood before them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were greatly afraid. And the angel said, Do not be afraid. Do not be afraid. Do not be afraid. For behold, I bring you good news of great joy, which will be to all the people. For there is born to you this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord. and this will be a sign to you. You will find a babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger. I love verse 13. And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of heavenly hosts praising God and saying, glory to God in the highest. …
