The Psychology of Victory - Touré Roberts
Touré Roberts, 2026-06-23

… I commit my spirit. And the Bible says, and therefore God has highly exalted him and given him a name which is above every name of things on earth, things beneath the earth, and every knee must bow and every tongue must confess. that Jesus Christ is Lord. But look at that. Look at how he got there. Boom, boom. Submission, submission, submission, submission. Surrender, surrender, surrender, surrender. There's a connection between surrender and authority. Can I talk to you like this for a moment? Hmm. So the good news in it all is that victory has been procured. So that's what we talked about last week. Last week was about the fact that we are in a war. This week, I want to spend a few minutes. I can't finish it. But this week, I want to talk about the psychology of warfare. Because warfare has a psychology to it. How you think about it. How you see. because one of the things that the Lord was impressing on me as I was praying about where we go from last week was one of the greatest dangers in warfare. …

… And where Paul closes this whole thing, his central treatise right in the middle of this amazing book is in Philippians chapter two, verses five through 11. and he says this he says in your relationships with one another have the same mindset as Christ Jesus you see the battle in the mind the mind of the flesh the mind of the spirit and he says to you if you want to see it differently have a different mind have the mind of Jesus because when you have the mind of Jesus you will see it differently and he says this is of our Savior who being in very nature God did not consider equality with God something to be used for his own advantage. You see, he's throwing shade on the first Adam. Adam thought he would be like God and he trusted his own wisdom and he looked at something and said, oh, it's pleasing and he ate it and he didn't see that it would kill him. …

Adam Hamilton, 2026-02-28 · Scripture reading

Well, this Lent, we are walking with Jesus through the final week of his life. Last week, we began the Lenten season with Palm Sunday. On Sunday of Holy Week, Jesus came into Jerusalem riding on a donkey. He overturned the money changers' tables and those who were selling merchandise, selling doves for sacrifice, and he drove them out of the temple. And by the time he left the temple that day, the religious establishment was furious and wondering what had just happened. and were plotting already against him. So now we turn to Monday of Holy Week, Monday of that final week of Jesus' life. And he's gonna make his way from Bethany back to the temple. Let me just show you once more. This is a map of Jerusalem. This is the top of the Mount of Olives over here. There's Bethany. He's gonna come down the Mount of Olives, this time not riding a donkey, as near as we can tell. And he makes his way back over. …

… Philippians 2, same idea. Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name, that's Jesus, It is above every name that at the name of Jesus, every knee should bow in heaven, on earth, and under the earth, and every tongue acknowledge or confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, comma, to the glory of God the Father. Therefore, not done yet, my dear friends, as you have always obeyed not only my presence, but now much more my absence, continue to work out your salvation. I gave it to you, you go possess it I gave you the land Go take the land You got Jebusites, great, go take them You got Canaanites, fine, let's go take them You got the Hittites, I'm with you Let's go take the Hittites And let's clear this land of everything that's not God Let's wipe out everything in this story that is not Holy Spirit and does not honor Jesus, let's go take the land. Work out your salvation with fear and trembling for it is God who works in you to will and to act. …

The Gift of Jesus’ Name | Jentezen Franklin
Jentezen Franklin, 2025-12-14

He humbled himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross. Therefore, God has highly exalted him and given him a name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus, every knee should bow of those things in heaven, of those things on earth, of those things under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord for the glory of the Father. What a gift. The gift of the name of Jesus. Every knee shall bow. Every tongue shall confess. The president's going to confess it of every nation. The king of every nation, the richest, the most powerful, the most ungodly, the biggest atheist in the world will bow their knee and tremble one day and confess Jesus is God. Jesus is Lord. The ultimate going force of God was the incarnation. God was manifest in flesh. I want to say it bold like I want to say it. Jesus is not one of many or one of several. Jesus is God. Jesus is God in the father. Jesus is God in the son. …

An Unlikely King

… by becoming obedient to death, even death on a cross. Therefore, God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. Somewhere in the middle of the Lord of the Rings films, Frodo is sitting with the wizard Gandalf Lamenting his mission He had been tasked with returning the Ring of Power To the fires of Mordor So that it could be destroyed It was claimed that whoever had the Ring Had the power to rule over all Middle-earth Up to this point in the films Things were not nearly as bad as they would eventually be And yet Frodo says I wish it need not have happened in my time And Gandalf, with his wisdom of years, responds So do I, and so do all who live to see such times But that is not for them to decide All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given us The end of the story is that Frodo, a hobbit Is the most unlikely character to bring an end to what was the reign of terror Brought about by the desire to dominate The fight over the Ring of Power led to a clash of all the peoples in Middle-earth, fighting for the domination it promised or to prevent others from wielding it. …

… So it is a true king who was offered a false coronation. The true and actual coronation of our Lord in heaven is described in Philippians chapter 2, verses 9 to 11, where Christ ascends to heaven, is given a name above every name, name Lord, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God on high as King of kings and Lord of lords." That's the heavenly coronation. The earthly coronation will come, and it's described in Revelation 19 and 20 when Christ returns in the future and establishes His millennial rule on earth. So this is neither a heavenly coronation or an earthly coronation. It is not even like a coronation. There are no dignitaries. There are no formalities. There is no regalia. There's no fanfare. It's more like His birth, which is featuring a donkey bringing His mother to Bethlehem, And this features the colt of a donkey bringing Him into Jerusalem. It's simple, it's humble, but it isn't a true coronation. He is, however, the true King. …
