… that in verse 2 begins with Abraham, the father of Isaac, Isaac, the father of Jacob, Jacob, the father of Judah and his brothers. And it goes on and on talking about various people. In verse 6, you see King David. David was the father of Solomon. And it goes on to list the kings. Look in verse 11. and Josiah, the father of Jeconiah and his brothers at the time of the exile to Babylon. After the exile to Babylon, and it goes on to verse 16. And Jacob, the father of Joseph, the husband of Mary, of whom was born Jesus, who is called Christ. Don't miss this. I'm not convinced exactly how much Josiah knew when it came to specifics, but I'm pretty convinced based on Scripture that Josiah knew that he was in a long line and the plan of God to bring this promise to a reality. This Passover was just a picture of something that was coming much greater. And Josiah realized he was in a long line that one day, maybe he knew the specifics or maybe not, but one day his life was going to point to Jesus Christ, the Savior of the world. …

And Isaac was the father of Jacob, the man who entered the messianic bloodline by stealing his brother's birthright. Jacob was the father of Judah and his brothers who sold Joseph into slavery. and Judah was the father of Perez and Zarah, whose mother was Tamar, the one who disguised herself as a prostitute and seduced Judah, who was her father-in-law to impregnate her with Perez and Zarah, who were in that list I just mentioned. That's a big old. And Perez was the father of Hezron and Hezron was the father of Ram. Go heels. No, I'm kidding. Totally different. Ram was the father of Amenadab. Rev. Werner Ramirez, 2025-12-07

So listen to the word of the Lord as it comes to us from Matthew chapter 1. elude the father of eleazar and eleazar the father of matan and matan the father of jacob and jacob the father of joseph the husband of mary who bore jesus who is called the messiah so all the generations from abraham to david are 14 generations and from david to the deportation to Babylon, 14 generations, and from the deportation to Babylon to the Messiah, 14 generations. Now the birth of Jesus the Messiah took place in this way. When his mother Mary had been engaged to Joseph, but before they lived together, she was found to be pregnant from the Holy Spirit. Her husband Joseph, being a righteous man and unwilling to expose her to public disgrace, planned to divorce her quietly. But just when he had resolved to do this, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and said, Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary as your wife, for the child conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit. She will bear a son, and you are to name him Jesus, for he will save his people from their sins. All this took place to fulfill what had been spoken by the Lord through the prophet. Look, the virgin shall become pregnant and give birth to a son, and they shall name him Emmanuel, which means God with us. When Joseph awoke from his sleep, he did as the angel of the Lord commanded him. He took her as his wife, but had no marital …
