Matthew 24

1As Jesus left the temple and was walking away, His disciples came up to Him to point out its buildings.Jesus went out from the temple, and was going on his way. His disciples came to him to show him the buildings of the temple. And Jesus went out, and departed from the temple: and his disciples came to him for to shew him the buildings of the temple. And Jesus went out from the temple, and was going on his way; and his disciples came to him to show him the buildings of the temple. 2“Do you see all these things?” He replied. “Truly I tell you, not one stone here will be left on another; every one will be thrown down.”But he answered them, “You see all of these things, don’t you? Most certainly I tell you, there will not be left here one stone on another, that will not be thrown down.”And Jesus said unto them, See ye not all these things? verily I say unto you, There shall not be left here one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down. But he answered and said unto them, See ye not all these things? verily I say unto you, There shall not be left here one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down. 3While Jesus was sitting on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to Him privately. “Tell us,” they said, “when will these things happen, and what will be the sign of Your coming and of the end of the age?”As he sat on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to him privately, saying, “Tell us, when will these things be? What is the sign of your coming, and of the end of the age?”And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world? And as he sat on the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world? 4Jesus answered, “See to it that no one deceives you.Jesus answered them, “Be careful that no one leads you astray. And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you.And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man lead you astray. 5For many will come in My name, claiming, ‘I am the Christ,’ and will deceive many. For many will come in my name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and will lead many astray. For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many. For many shall come in my name, saying, I am the Christ; and shall lead many astray. 6You will hear of wars and rumors of wars, but see to it that you are not alarmed. These things must happen, but the end is still to come. You will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you aren’t troubled, for all this must happen, but the end is not yet.And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.And ye shall hear of wars and rumors of wars; see that ye be not troubled: for these things must needs come to pass; but the end is not yet. 7Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in various places. For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom; and there will be famines, plagues, and earthquakes in various places. For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places. For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom; and there shall be famines and earthquakes in divers places. 8All these are the beginning of birth pains. But all these things are the beginning of birth pains. All these are the beginning of sorrows. But all these things are the beginning of travail. 9Then they will deliver you over to be persecuted and killed, and you will be hated by all nations because of My name.“Then they will deliver you up to oppression and will kill you. You will be hated by all of the nations for my name’s sake. Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name’s sake. Then shall they deliver you up unto tribulation, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all the nations for my name’s sake. 10At that time many will fall away and will betray and hate one another,Then many will stumble, and will deliver up one another, and will hate one another. And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another. And then shall many stumble, and shall deliver up one another, and shall hate one another. 11and many false prophets will arise and deceive many. Many false prophets will arise and will lead many astray. And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many. And many false prophets shall arise, and shall lead many astray. 12Because of the multiplication of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold.Because iniquity will be multiplied, the love of many will grow cold. And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold. And because iniquity shall be multiplied, the love of the many shall wax cold. 13But the one who perseveres to the end will be saved. But he who endures to the end will be saved. But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved. But he that endureth to the end, the same shall be saved. 14And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come. This Good News of the Kingdom will be preached in the whole world for a testimony to all the nations, and then the end will come. And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come. And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in the whole world for a testimony unto all the nations; and then shall the end come. 15So when you see standing in the holy place ‘the abomination of desolation,’ spoken of by the prophet Daniel (let the reader understand),“When, therefore, you see the abomination of desolation, which was spoken of through Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place (let the reader understand),When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:)When therefore ye see the abomination of desolation, which was spoken of through Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place (let him that readeth understand), 16then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains.then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains. Then let them which be in Judea flee into the mountains:then let them that are in Judæa flee unto the mountains: 17Let no one on the housetop come down to retrieve anything from his house.Let him who is on the housetop not go down to take out the things that are in his house.Let him which is on the housetop not come down to take any thing out of his house:let him that is on the housetop not go down to take out the things that are in his house: 18And let no one in the field return for his cloak.Let him who is in the field not return back to get his clothes.Neither let him which is in the field return back to take his clothes.and let him that is in the field not return back to take his cloak. 19How miserable those days will be for pregnant and nursing mothers! But woe to those who are with child and to nursing mothers in those days! And woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck in those days! But woe unto them that are with child and to them that give suck in those days! 20Pray that your flight will not occur in the winter or on the Sabbath.Pray that your flight will not be in the winter nor on a Sabbath,But pray ye that your flight be not in the winter, neither on the sabbath day:And pray ye that your flight be not in the winter, neither on a sabbath: 21For at that time there will be great tribulation, unseen from the beginning of the world until now, and never to be seen again.for then there will be great suffering, such as has not been from the beginning of the world until now, no, nor ever will be.For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.for then shall be great tribulation, such as hath not been from the beginning of the world until now, no, nor ever shall be. 22If those days had not been cut short, nobody would be saved. But for the sake of the elect, those days will be cut short.Unless those days had been shortened, no flesh would have been saved. But for the sake of the chosen ones, those days will be shortened. And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect’s sake those days shall be shortened. And except those days had been shortened, no flesh would have been saved: but for the elect’s sake those days shall be shortened. 23At that time, if anyone says to you, ‘Look, here is the Christ!’ or ‘There He is!’ do not believe it.“Then if any man tells you, ‘Behold, here is the Christ!’ or, ‘There!’ don’t believe it.Then if any man shall say unto you, Lo, here is Christ, or there; believe it not. Then if any man shall say unto you, Lo, here is the Christ, or, Here; believe it not. 24For false Christs and false prophets will appear and perform great signs and wonders to deceive even the elect, if that were possible. For false christs and false prophets will arise, and they will show great signs and wonders, so as to lead astray, if possible, even the chosen ones. For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect. For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall show great signs and wonders; so as to lead astray, if possible, even the elect. 25See, I have told you in advance.“Behold, I have told you beforehand.Behold, I have told you before.Behold, I have told you beforehand. 26So if they tell you, ‘There He is, in the wilderness,’ do not go out, or, ‘Here He is, in the inner rooms,’ do not believe it.“If therefore they tell you, ‘Behold, he is in the wilderness,’ don’t go out; or ‘Behold, he is in the inner rooms,’ don’t believe it.Wherefore if they shall say unto you, Behold, he is in the desert; go not forth: behold, he is in the secret chambers; believe it not.If therefore they shall say unto you, Behold, he is in the wilderness; go not forth: Behold, he is in the inner chambers; believe it not. 27For just as the lightning comes from the east and flashes as far as the west, so will be the coming of the Son of Man.For as the lightning flashes from the east, and is seen even to the west, so will the coming of the Son of Man be.For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.For as the lightning cometh forth from the east, and is seen even unto the west; so shall be the coming of the Son of man. 28Wherever there is a carcass, there the vultures will gather. For wherever the carcass is, that is where the vultures gather together. For wheresoever the carcase is, there will the eagles be gathered together.Wheresoever the carcase is, there will the eagles be gathered together. 29Immediately after the tribulation of those days: ‘The sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light; the stars will fall from the sky, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken.’“But immediately after the suffering of those days, the sun will be darkened, the moon will not give its light, the stars will fall from the sky, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken;Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken:But immediately after the tribulation of those days the sun shall be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken: 30At that time the sign of the Son of Man will appear in heaven, and all the tribes of the earth will mourn. They will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.and then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in the sky. Then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of the sky with power and great glory. And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.and then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. 31And He will send out His angels with a loud trumpet call, and they will gather His elect from the four winds, from one end of the heavens to the other. He will send out his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they will gather together his chosen ones from the four winds, from one end of the sky to the other. And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other. And he shall send forth his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other. 32Now learn this lesson from the fig tree: As soon as its branches become tender and sprout leaves, you know that summer is near.“Now from the fig tree learn this parable: When its branch has now become tender and produces its leaves, you know that the summer is near. Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When his branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is nigh:Now from the fig tree learn her parable: when her branch is now become tender, and putteth forth its leaves, ye know that the summer is nigh; 33So also, when you see all these things, you will know that He is near, right at the door.Even so you also, when you see all these things, know that he is near, even at the doors. So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors.even so ye also, when ye see all these things, know ye that he is nigh, even at the doors. 34Truly I tell you, this generation will not pass away until all these things have happened. Most certainly I tell you, this generation will not pass away until all these things are accomplished.Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled.Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass away, till all these things be accomplished. 35Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will never pass away.Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will not pass away.Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away. 36No one knows about that day or hour, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.“But no one knows of that day and hour, not even the angels of heaven, but my Father only. But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only. But of that day and hour knoweth no one, not even the angels of heaven, neither the Son, but the Father only. 37As it was in the days of Noah, so will it be at the coming of the Son of Man.As the days of Noah were, so will the coming of the Son of Man be.But as the days of Noe were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.And as were the days of Noah, so shall be the coming of the Son of man. 38For in the days before the flood, people were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, up to the day Noah entered the ark.For as in those days which were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered into the ship,For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark,For as in those days which were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered into the ark, 39And they were oblivious until the flood came and swept them all away. So will it be at the coming of the Son of Man.and they didn’t know until the flood came and took them all away, so will the coming of the Son of Man be.And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.and they knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall be the coming of the Son of man. 40Two men will be in the field: one will be taken and the other left. Then two men will be in the field: one will be taken and one will be left. Then shall two be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left. Then shall two men be in the field; one is taken, and one is left: 41Two women will be grinding at the mill: one will be taken and the other left. Two women will be grinding at the mill: one will be taken and one will be left. Two women shall be grinding at the mill; the one shall be taken, and the other left.two women shall be grinding at the mill; one is taken, and one is left. 42Therefore keep watch, because you do not know the day on which your Lord will come.Watch therefore, for you don’t know in what hour your Lord comes.Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come.Watch therefore: for ye know not on what day your Lord cometh. 43But understand this: If the homeowner had known in which watch of the night the thief was coming, he would have kept watch and would not have let his house be broken into. But know this, that if the master of the house had known in what watch of the night the thief was coming, he would have watched, and would not have allowed his house to be broken into. But know this, that if the goodman of the house had known in what watch the thief would come, he would have watched, and would not have suffered his house to be broken up.But know this, that if the master of the house had known in what watch the thief was coming, he would have watched, and would not have suffered his house to be broken through. 44For this reason, you also must be ready, because the Son of Man will come at an hour you do not expect. Therefore also be ready, for in an hour that you don’t expect, the Son of Man will come. Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh. Therefore be ye also ready; for in an hour that ye think not the Son of man cometh. 45Who then is the faithful and wise servant, whom the master has put in charge of his household, to give the others their food at the proper time?“Who then is the faithful and wise servant, whom his lord has set over his household, to give them their food in due season?Who then is a faithful and wise servant, whom his lord hath made ruler over his household, to give them meat in due season?Who then is the faithful and wise servant, whom his lord hath set over his household, to give them their food in due season? 46Blessed is that servant whose master finds him doing so when he returns.Blessed is that servant whom his lord finds doing so when he comes.Blessed is that servant, whom his lord when he cometh shall find so doing.Blessed is that servant, whom his lord when he cometh shall find so doing. 47Truly I tell you, he will put him in charge of all his possessions. Most certainly I tell you that he will set him over all that he has.Verily I say unto you, That he shall make him ruler over all his goods.Verily I say unto you, that he will set him over all that he hath. 48But suppose that servant is wicked and says in his heart, ‘My master will be away a long time.’But if that evil servant should say in his heart, ‘My lord is delaying his coming,’But and if that evil servant shall say in his heart, My lord delayeth his coming; But if that evil servant shall say in his heart, My lord tarrieth; 49And he begins to beat his fellow servants and to eat and drink with drunkards.and begins to beat his fellow servants, and eat and drink with the drunkards,And shall begin to smite his fellowservants, and to eat and drink with the drunken;and shall begin to beat his fellow-servants, and shall eat and drink with the drunken; 50The master of that servant will come on a day he does not expect and at an hour he does not anticipate.the lord of that servant will come in a day when he doesn’t expect it and in an hour when he doesn’t know it,The lord of that servant shall come in a day when he looketh not for him, and in an hour that he is not aware of,the lord of that servant shall come in a day when he expecteth not, and in an hour when he knoweth not, 51Then he will cut him to pieces and assign him a place with the hypocrites, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.and will cut him in pieces and appoint his portion with the hypocrites. That is where the weeping and grinding of teeth will be.And shall cut him asunder, and appoint him his portion with the hypocrites: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.and shall cut him asunder, and appoint his portion with the hypocrites: there shall be the weeping and the gnashing of teeth.
