Praise to you, Lord Jesus Christ. I'd like you to have a seat. So the other night I was talking with a group of high schoolers and the topic of a man named St. Padre Pio came up. I don't know if you guys, have you guys heard of St. Padre Pio? Yes. Okay. So remarkable guy. And we just were talking about like some of the most incredible gifts. So Padre Pio was a Capuchin priest or friar. So it's a Franciscan friar. Back, he was born in the end of the 1800s. I think he died in the 1960s. So long life. But he was ordained. he was from Italy and he was ordained in a place called St. Giovanni Giovanni Rotondo and that's where he lived his entire life. But shortly after he was ordained he just started experiencing, I think even before his ordination, experienced these massive gifts. So I was asking these high schoolers like do you know about the gifts of St. Padre Pio and what are they? So they started throwing out all these gifts like among many others where St. Padre Pio had the gift of bilocation which is you could be, he was in two places at once. Like he never physically I think left St. Giovanni Rotondo. …

… in these stories. It's more like a tiny seed that grows into a big tree. It's like a handful of yeast that leavens a hundred pounds of dough. The kingdom's like treasure hidden in a field that a man sells everything he owns to buy. It's now, it's like a merchant of fine pearls who does the same thing when he finds what he's looking for. It's like a net thrown into the sea that catches fish of every kind. It's like the master of a household who brings out of his treasure what is new and what is old. Have you understood all this? Pastor David and I both laughed. I even looked that word up in the Greek it's written in and you pronounce it nay. Just play with that. Have you understood all this. I tried to. I really did. The stories, they just won't line up. The man who found treasure in a field wasn't looking for anything when he found it. He just ran his plow into it while he was doing a job for somebody else. And then he buried it again so he could figure out how to buy the whole field without the owner knowing the treasure was there. So the kingdom is like petty larceny. …

If you will turn from your sins and come to Christ, the great God will accept of you, and delight in you: you then will have those spiritual ornaments that will be more amiable in the sight of God, than all the learning, and knowledge, and morality of all the ungodly men in the world. If you continue in a natural condition, God will make no account of you; instead of being as his jewels, you will be esteemed as vile and refuse, and fit for nothing but to be trampled under-foot; instead of being told, you will be esteemed as dross, Jer. vi. 30. “Reprobate silver shall men call them, because the Lord hath rejected them.” Hereafter you will be thrown away as being good for nothing, you will be esteemed nothing worth, as is represented in that parable, Matt. xiii. 47, &c. “Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto a net that was cast into the sea, and gathered of every kind: which, when it was full, they drew to shore, and sat down, and gathered the good into vessels, but cast the bad away. So shall it be at the end of the world: the angels shall come forth, and sever the wicked from among the just, and shall cast them into the furnace of fire; there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth.” Yea, you shall not only be cast away as good for nothing, but shall be cast out as filth into the great receptacle of the filth of the world; you will be cast into a furnace of fire, as barren branches are gathered up and burnt. John xv. 6. “If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned.” Or as barren trees are cut down and cast into the fire. Matt. iii. 10. “And now also the axe is laid unto the root of the trees; therefore every tree which bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down and cast into the fire.” As the tares were gathered together in bundles and burnt, you will be looked upon as fit for nothing else but to be destroyed. 2 Peter ii 12. “But these, as natural brute beasts, made to be taken and destroyed, speak evil of the things that they understand not, and shall utterly perish in their own corruption.” …
