but the boat was already far from land, buffeted by the waves because the wind was against it.But the boat was now in the middle of the sea, distressed by the waves, for the wind was contrary. But the ship was now in the midst of the sea, tossed with waves: for the wind was contrary. But the boat was now in the midst of the sea, distressed by the waves; for the wind was contrary.

We're gonna stop right there before we get down to the part where he sank and we're gonna just give Peter a round of applause today. At all locations, Peter walked on the Sea of Galilee. Did you ever do that? Anyone? Not one person on the South Side. Cumberland? No? 515? Mm-mm. Okay, so Peter did something nobody's done. That's pretty epic. Yeah, but keep reading. but when he saw the wind, he was afraid, and he began to sink, and he cried out, Lord, save me, and immediately, Jesus reached out his hand and caught him. Now, that's how you know Jesus is awesome, because any of us would have gone, let me think about it, and just wait until he got right to here, but no, he's like, gotcha, I got you. You're not going down. But then he said, you little faith, why did you doubt? And when they climbed into the boat, the wind died down. Then those who were in the boat worshiped him saying, truly you are the son of God. Now, if you're inquisitive like me, you're curious, you would say, well, why didn't when the winds were kicking up and all that business and he got out on the water. Why didn't Jesus just do what he did when he woke up? Stop blowing. It's freaking Peter out. …
… So I'm excited about Jesus. I want to preach about Jesus today from Matthew chapter 14, verses 22 through 35. First Bible story that I ever preached for our last sermon in the series, That's What I Thought. Tell your neighbor, that's what I thought. I say this is the last one. I think it's the last one. If the Lord wants me to keep going, I will. but my plan is today to take some of the things we've been preaching about and minister them to your heart. Welcome to all of our locations. Put it in the comment on YouTube. That's what I thought. This is our final installment. Yeah, this is the first Bible story I ever preached, so I always try to preach it at least once a year just to check in and see how dumb I was the last time I preached it or what new thing God will show me. Glad you're here today. Welcome. Welcome to the presence of God. Welcome to a new beginning. Welcome to a space where grace reigns supreme and where Jesus is Lord and King. Welcome to a place where you can hear his word. …
"And when He had sent the multitudes away, He went up into a mountain apart to pray: and when the evening was come, He was there alone. But the boat was now in the midst of the sea, tossed with waves: for the wind was contrary. And in the fourth watch of the night, Jesus went unto them, walking on the sea." Matthew 14:23-25. "Then they took away the stone from the place where the dead were laid. And Jesus lifted up His eyes and said, Father, I thank You that You have heard Me. And I know that You hear Me always: but because of the people here, I said it, that they may believe that You have sent Me." John 11:41,42. "And the Lord said, Simon, Simon, behold, Satan has desired to have you, that he may sift you as wheat: but I have prayed for you, that your faith fail not: and when you are converted, strengthen your brethren." Luke 22:31,32. "And when Jesus had cried with a loud voice, He sad, Father, into Your hands I commend My spirit: and having said thus, He gave up the ghost." Luke 23:46. …
