… And if you're in here, I want you to go back and study. But in Matthew 25, verse 14 through 30, this whole story was about three different people who who the grace of God gave one of them five, one of them, two and one of them, one. And he didn't matter. It didn't matter about the amounts. He just wanted them to do something with what they had been given. So in this series, this whole thing about us being the blessed people that God wants us to be. I really started to look at this scripture because verse 29 really struck me. And I want to go there real quick as we end last week's service today. And I'm going to start a new message today, too. But I want you to see this real quick. Matthew 25, verse 29. It says, those who use well. Everybody say use well. … People who have their ducks in a row are people who are digging a hole. Let me prove it to you right here, just so everybody knows, that in Matthew chapter 25, verse 18, it said, but the servant who received the one bag of silver dug a hole in the ground and hid the master's money. My question to you, are you continually being in cycles of debt? Are you digging holes that you can't get out of in the future? I had to be very, very honest with myself and I had to come to grips with my shoe addiction. Oh, okay. You want to judge? Me and my wife are believing God for a new home. And I was about to buy some shoes the other day on the internet. And it's just so easy because you don't even see the money exchange. You don't even, it's just like, boo, new shoes on the way. and God convicted me. He said, are you stewarding and preparing for what you want? …

… Same with him, less return, but he, you know, same percentage. But then, watch this, he who had received the one talent went and dug in the ground and hid his master's money. Now to that guy, when the master returns, the master looks and he commends the first two servants and to this third servant, he says, you wicked and slothful, lazy, good for nothing servant. You ought to have invested my money with the bankers and at my coming, I would have received back what was my own with interest. So take the talent from him, from this worthless servant, give it to the one who has the 10 talents for everyone who has will more be given than he who will have, and he will have an abundance, but from the one who has not, even what he has is going to be taken away. Jesus called the one who did not take the risk, get this, wicked. And my first reaction when I read that is wicked. I mean, what wicked thing had he done? …

My question to you. Are you continually? Being in cycles of debt Are you digging holes that you can't get out of in the future? I had to be very, very honest with myself, and I had to come to grips with my shoe addiction. Oh, okay, you want to judge? Me and my wife are believing God for a new home. And I was about to buy some shoes the other day on the internet. And it's just so easy because you don't even see the money exchange. You don't even, it's just like, boo, new shoes on the way. And God convicted me. He said, are you stewarding and preparing for what you want? Are you about to wear your new doorknob? and it hit like it hit me like a ton of bricks because i was gonna stun him one time and then put him put him in the closet with the with the other million shoes that i had he said why would i give you more why would i bless you what you're asking for and you won't steward over what i've already given you and i'm telling you i gotta be honest with where i'm at I ain't judging you, but I'm putting my stuff out on the street because maybe just maybe there's an area of your life that you're wasting resources and things that will burn up when heaven and earth are actually passed away. …

… And so the one with the two talents also doubled his money. But the man who had received the one talent went off, dug a hole in the ground, and just hid his master's money. Now there's a couple things I want to point out here. And the first is this. Money is a tool to be used. You put it to work. You use money and you love people. Now if you get that reversed, you're going to be in trouble. Because if you start loving money, you will use people. No, people are to be loved, money is to be used. You are to never love money. You are to use it. It is a tool to be used. You say, well, wait a minute. Isn't money the root of all evil? Isn't that what the Bible says? No, that's not what the Bible says. The Bible does not say money is the root of all evil. It says the love of money is the root of all evil. …

… listen in and hear what the Savior can teach us about the shape of ambition in his kingdom. Matthew chapter 25, verses 14 through 30. Jesus said, For it will be like a man going on a journey, who called his servants and entrusted to them his property. To one he gave five talents, to another two, to another one, to each according to his ability. Then he went away. He who had received the five talents went at once and traded with them, and he made five talents more. So also he who had the two talents made two talents more. But he who had received the one talent went and dug in the ground and hid his master's money. Now, after a long time, the master of those servants came and settled accounts with them.
