Called To Be An Influencer – Part 2
Jack Hibbs, 2026-08-16

… but he who does the will of my father in heaven many speaking out the day of judgment many will say to me in that day Lord Lord have we not prophesied in your name wow Lord, Lord, have we not proclaimed your name? Have we not preached your name? So that means there's going to be preachers and proclaimers of the word of God and they're going to do it in his name and they're going to call him Lord, Lord and they did miracles. Look, cast out demons in your name. How many people are suckers in religious settings right now that they'll gravitate towards something that gives them goosebumps. Oh, let's do this and let's do that because can you feel it? Oh, we go to this thing because can you feel it? Can you feel what? I mean, you just feel, you can feel the presence of God. What does that mean? listen if you can feel the presence of God and you ask three people what is that feeling and you get three different answers we got a problem this is why biblical doctrine is the paramount of judging all things even feelings very important so ask yourself like I ask me Lord, I proclaim your name and I call you Lord. …

… Are you producing good fruit or toxic fruit? All right, let's talk about Matthew chapter 7, verses 21 through 23. This is now the third of these pericopes, these short statements that Jesus makes. And this is what he says. Not everyone who says to me, Lord, Lord. Now he's talking about the last judgment. Not everyone who says to me, Lord, Lord, will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father in heaven. On that day, many will say to me, Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, cast out demons in your name, and do many deeds of power in your name. And then I will declare to them, I never knew you. Go away from me, you evildoers. You feel the tragic note in this. I mean, these are people, so Jesus has two categories of people at the last judgment. He says, you know, they were both calling him Lord, right? Lord means to be ruler, sovereign, master, right? …

The Only Way to Heaven (Matthew 7:13-27)
John MacArthur, 2023-04-30 · Scripture reading

… the will of My Father who is in heaven will enter. Many will say to me on that day, Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name, and in Your name cast out demons, and in Your name perform many miracles? And then I will declare to them, I never knew You. Depart from me, You who practice lawlessness. Therefore everyone who hears these words of Mine and acts on them may be compared to a wise man who built his house on the rock. And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and slammed against that house, and yet it did not fall, for it had been founded on the rock. Everyone who hears these words of Mine and does not act on them will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand. The rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and slammed against that house, and it fell, and great was its fall. You have here a very definitive section of instruction from our Lord. …

… heaven, but he who does the will of My Father who is in heaven will enter. Many will say to Me on that day, Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name, and in Your name cast out demons, and in Your name perform many miracles? Then I will declare to them, I never knew You. from me you who practice lawlessness. God didn't want the lawless and unrighteous in His temple. He doesn't want them in His heaven. They don't belong in worship. I wonder in this particular form of evangelical today, if we aren't producing some broad-gate Baptist churches, the first broad-gate Baptist church of whoever, wherever. Maybe even some broad-gate Bible churches. We've been talking about the gospel. We all understand that. And you heard a classic message from Steve on preaching the Word. And in that message, he came down to verse 5. And I'm going to pick up the baton at verse 5 on, do the work of an evangelist. Do the work of an evangelist. …

Not everyone who says to me, Lord, Lord, shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of my Father in heaven. Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in your name, cast out demons in your name, and done many wonders in your name. And then I will declare to them, I never knew you. Depart from me, you who practice lawlessness. I realize that probably much of what I felt in my heart to share tonight has been heard quite a few times over in this group, so I will consider it a privilege to preach to the choir. this verse is used often to somehow to persuade people that miracles are not for today which to me sounds like the most I don't get it should I say what I'm really thinking that's just stupid Jesus didn't warn against prophets. He warned against false prophets. He didn't warn against signs and wonders. He warned against false signs and wonders. …

Love and the Practical Graces
Tim Keller, 2002-01-13

Many will say on the last day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name and in thy name and cast out devils and in thy name driven out and done many wonderful works. By the way, the word wonderful works is a word that means miracles. So on the last day, it says Matthew 7, 21. In Matthew 7, 21, it says, on the last day, Jesus is going to meet people who said, we prophesied, we preached, we got revelation from you, we did miracles from you. And Jesus is going to say to many of them, I never knew you. Edwards says, the soul becomes a precious jewel through the Spirit of God. Now, so different are talent and gifts from supernatural grace and character growth in the heart that it's possible to actually do miracles through the power of God and not be a Christian at all, or being an incredibly weak Christian, put another way. It's possible to give your... it's possible to give your talents to the service of God and not give your heart to God. …

… WHEREFORE BY THEIR FRUITS YE SHALL KNOW THEM. NOT EVERY ONE THAT SAITH UNTO ME, LORD, LORD, SHALL ENTER INTO THE KINGDOM OF HEAVEN. BUT HE THAT DOETH THE WILL OF MY FATHER WHICH IS IN HEAVEN. MANY WILL SAY UNTO ME IN THAT DAY, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name, and in thy name have cast out devils, and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you. Depart from me, ye that work iniquity. Have you ever passed a house or been walking up to a house wanting to knock on the door and you see a sign that says, Beware the dog. HAVE YOU EVER SEEN THAT? WHAT DO YOU DO? WELL, YOU BEWARE THE DOG, DON'T YOU? WHEN THERE'S A SIGN THERE THAT SAYS JUST BEWARE THE DOG, YOU STOP RIGHT AWAY AND YOU LOOK AROUND AND WONDER, SHOULD I GO IN THERE? BUT WHATEVER, IT SENSITIZES YOU. I WANT YOU TO IMAGINE WALKING UP TO A HOUSE AND SEEING A SIGN THAT SAYS, BEWARE THE WOLF. I JUST SUPPOSE RATHER THAN HAVING A, A, A, A DOG IN THE YARD. THERE IS A WOLF IN THE YARD. I THINK YOU WOULD DO A DOUBLE TAKE. THE TITLE OF OUR MESSAGE TODAY, BEWARE THE WOLVES. THAT'S WHAT JESUS IS SAYING. AND THESE WOLVES WHO HAVE DISGUISED THEMSELVES IN SHEEP'S CLOTHING. …
