… will anyone die for a righteous man, though for a good man someone might possibly dare to die. But God demonstrates his love for us in this, while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. He died for us. And it's through faith in what he has done that we are reconciled to God. This is the good news for every non-Christian friend who's in here this morning. Hear the good news. God has poured out the wrath due sin upon his son, and he has said to you sitting here in this room, if you will trust in him to save you from your sin as Lord over your life, he will remove all your sin forever. then he goes on in Romans 6 to describe how through faith in Christ we're dead to sin and alive to God this changes everything about how we live now Romans 7 that doesn't mean we don't struggle with sin we do for what we want to do we don't do what we hate we do it's kind of schizophrenic Paul we want to do good evil's right there with us waging war against the law of our mind making a prisoner of law at work within our members then Paul says who's going to rescue us And the answer, thanks be to God through Jesus Christ our Lord. …

… one would even dare even to die but God showed his love for us in that while we were still sinners Christ died for us what a blessed truth that is to remember and to live in the reality of tonight Christ died for me. I was that person on the road to Jericho, beaten and robbed. And the good Samaritan came by. And the balm of Gilead was poured out. And my wounded heart was healed. In fact, it was replaced with a heart of flesh and gave me full recovery and gave you full recovery. you and I received this love at salvation this sixth commandment God does not merely address murderers those who should be doing time in prison God is speaking to us as church members the prohibition is put before us you shall not murder the prescription that is effective in preventing murder is God's love. The children of God have love. And we love people not because we have discovered that some are lovable, but because the Spirit of Christ is in us. …

Tremble at God's Word
David Platt, 2026-09-30

… though for a good man someone might possibly dare to die. God demonstrates his love for us in this. While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Since we have now been justified by his blood, how much more will we be saved from God's wrath through him? For if in our sin, not only is this so, but we rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, to whom we have now received reconciliation. Therefore, just as sin entered the world through one man, and death through sin, and in this way death came to all men because all sin, for before the law was given, sin was in the world, but sin is not taken into account where there is no law. Nevertheless, death reigned from the time of Adam to the time of Moses, even over the nation who did not sin by breaking a command, as did Adam who was a power over the one to come. But the gift is not like the trespass. …

It Begins And Ends With Israel – Part 1
Robert Jeffress, 2026-09-21

… what we don't deserve, actually had an expression in time and history. It occurred at Calvary at the cross of Jesus Christ. Romans 5 says, God demonstrated his love toward us in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Because of God's grace, God sent his son Jesus to be the means of our salvation. And when Jesus died on the cross, that act by God provided the opportunity for anyone to be saved. The basis of our salvation is God's grace. The means of salvation is Christ's death. The channel of salvation, number three, is our faith. The channel of salvation is by our faith. The way God's grace through the death of Jesus Christ applies or is applied to our life is through our faith. Now get this, we're not saved by faith. We are saved by God's grace. God's grace that was demonstrated by Christ's death. But we receive salvation through faith. It was Paul who said in Ephesians 2, for by what? Grace you are saved through faith. …

What If It's Messy_ Release (Part 3)
Michael Todd, 2026-09-20

… But I want you to see God's grace, and it's explained in Romans 5, 8, where the Bible says, but God demonstrates his own love for us in this. While we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Let me give you the remix, the MLT version. While we were still blind, he saw us. I came to tell you today Wherever you are However, you're hurting Whatever blindness you have Whatever prayer you feel like it's not getting through God sees you In the boardroom He sees you in the crack house He sees you Laying down in another Another's bed He sees you Struggling through college He sees you in abuse right now. He sees you. You've been isolated for a long time. I feel this in my spirit because this ain't for everybody to get hype right now, but somebody was on the edge of losing hope. God sees you. Somebody just say it in faith. Say, God sees me. No, say it again. God sees me. I know you only have enough money to make it through this week, but God sees you. …

For All In The Family
Jack Hibbs, 2026-09-20

… mine stinks Romans 5 8 but God shows his love for us and that while we were still sinners Christ died for us wow Romans 5 12 therefore just as sin came into the world through one man and death through sin and so death spread to all men or all mankind because all sinned. Romans 6, 23, for the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 10, verses 9 through 11, because if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved. For the scripture says, everyone who believes in him will not be put to shame. Romans 10, 13. For everyone who calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved. Make sure that's you. Call upon him today. Standing right now where you're at, you can say, Lord, I'm calling upon you. And the great prophet Isaiah said that if you'll call upon the name of the Lord, you shall be saved. And we try to complicate that. He's convicting you. He's calling you out. …

A picture of reunion. Relaxation. Welcome. Welcome. Restoration. To come to a porch is to come home. Did you know that your heavenly Father has a porch? And it's framed with planks of mercy and kindness and grace. And over the doorway, welcome home. This is the big message of the Bible. and is certainly the big message in a chapter of the Bible in the book of Luke. At the heart of the gospel of Luke is the heart of the gospel of God. And over the next nine weeks, under the title, The Porch Light is On, we're going to work our way through this wondrous chapter and I gotta tell you I'm so excited I've been thrilled about this looking forward to this day for months months because you get Luke 15 God gets you and I'm so excited about it, I'm going to go ahead and give you your homework assignment. … Our St. Paul says, God proves his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. That we were reconciled to God through the death of his son. That we have to realize this, if we're open to it, God gives us precisely the grace that is needed. If we're open to it, God gives us precisely the amount of grace that we need. here's a question do you believe that like do we do we actually believe that do we believe that that i know this i know that god will act in the situation even if he doesn't act before the situation i believe that god will give me precisely the amount of help that i need do you believe that i know i believe god will give me precisely the amount of grace that I need to survive any moment, any trial, any test, even if survival means failure or even if survival means seeming failure. How Jesus People Share Jesus
Pastor Nate Heitzig, 2026-05-31

… the ungodly. For scarcely a righteous man will one die, yet perhaps a good man someone would even dare to die. But God demonstrates his love towards us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Why did Christ die for us? Because there was no other way to satisfy the righteous demands of God. Why did Christ die for us? Because we had no ability to improve ourselves, much less save ourselves. Why did Christ die for us? Because we faced a future in hell because of our sin. And for God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son, that whoever believes in him will not perish, but have everlasting life. The message of the gospel is a message of love. It is a message of forgiveness. It is a message of hope. It is a message that needs to be shared. The gospel in a nutshell is Christ died for our sins. He was buried and he rose again after three days. …

Max Lucado, 2026-05-24 · Scripture reading

we want to offer a prayer at this time. And it could be that you know personally or have some kind of connection with someone who made the ultimate sacrifice on behalf of our country. And you would like to stand on behalf of that person. You won't be asked to say anything or do anything. But as we pray, if you want to stand on behalf of somebody, please do so. And this prayer is a silent prayer. And so we'll just get it started. And you talk to your heavenly Father. Thank him. Respond to him as he leads. Okay? Gracious Father, now we honor those who were so willing to give soul. much. Through Christ we pray and all God's people said Amen. You can be seated. You know what I wish? … but his love is pure mercy and grace. Paul says God shows his love for us in this that while we were still sinners Christ died for us. Imagine that. While we were still sinners. Not after we loved him. While we were still sinners. while we were running away, Christ died for us. That is tremendous great love, isn't it? This love of God for us, the initiating love. God is the fountain of love. God is the spring of love. Our love always and only a reflection and a response to His love. He loved us first. Second way that John talks about God's great love, he says it's revealed. And this is really the heart of what he's getting at in the text. He points this out twice, this revelation of God's love. He says in verse 9, In this the love of God was made manifest. This is how God showed his love to us. And he says something similar. Verse 10, in this is love. …

Worship Wholeheartedly – Part 2
David Platt, 2026-04-01

… you fear living in any way that you would show that the sacrifice of christ on the cross is not important to you you fear living like that it's exactly what romans chapter 5 verse 8 and 9 is saying while we were still sinners christ died for us that's how we know he loves us then what does he say in verse 9 since we have now been justified by his blood how much more will be saved from God's wrath through him. We don't fear condemnation before God because of Christ. Apart from Christ, we've got a lot of reason to fear the judgment of God. But because of Christ, we don't fear condemnation. We fear living in such a way that we show that condemnation, that his forgiveness was not real and true and genuine. And fear of God now becomes equated with love for God. now I know I know this is not something we talk about a lot and that's why Acts chapter 5 is such a foreign passage in the American church it just we struggle with the picture of God that we're seeing here but if we want to worship truly we can't put some doctrines in the Bible aside we've got to embrace scripture we've got to embrace what scripture is teaching us and it's going to deepen our worship. See how this deepens our worship. When we fear God, we fear deceiving him or distrusting him or disobeying him. Do you see how the result becomes authentic Christianity …

While we were unfaithful, while we were rebellious, while we were away and against God, he didn't fold his arms and say, well, you better come back to me. … he was wrong Romans 5.8 says God demonstrates his own love toward us in that while we were still sinners Christ died for us while I was in the middle of my sin that's when I found God in the middle of my sin I didn't have to clean myself up to come to him there isn't a single Bible verse that says clean yourself up and then come to God. God wants you to come just as you are. You come just as you are. Sin and all. Sin and all. That night I sat there at the Harvest Crusade, I came into the stadium wanting to get out as soon as possible so I could go out and get high. That was my life. I was content with it. I liked it. … Paul writes, God proves his love for us and that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. The reality, of course, is that God does not waste our wounds. That all of this can be used. That the truth is this, that nothing given to God is ever, ever wasted because he's involved. Because God can use every part of your story. Because the answer to that question, is God in the middle, is an absolute resounding yes. So this is the last thing. Michael Reagan, when he grew up, as I said, with all these wounds in his past, he had wounds in his present, right? His life was a mess. His life was a wreck. And then what happened is he met Jesus. Jesus was brought into his life and he took all of that pain and all of that suffering, he took all that story, all of that, and he brought it to Jesus and he found mercy. That's why the actual, the title of Michael Reagan's autobiography is Twice Adopted. …

Paul wrote it this way, but God demonstrates his own love for us in this. while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Since we have now been justified by his blood, by the mess of his death, by the shredding of his flesh, by the piercing of his brow, by the piercing of his hands and his feet and his side, by the mess of it all, of him giving his life, that's how we've been justified before a holy God. how much more shall we be saved from God's wrath through him? Behold The Lamb - Louie Giglio

… And so your faith and hope are in God. Paul wrote it this way, but God demonstrates his own love for us in this. While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Since we have now been justified, there's our word, made righteous. How? By his blood. The life of the flesh is in the blood. The innocent living son of God is shedding his blood. We've been justified by his blood. How much more shall we be saved from God's wrath through him? Paul writes again, your boasting is not good. Don't you know that a little yeast leavens the whole batch of dough? Get rid of the old yeast so that you may be a new unleavened batch as you really are. And then here comes his closing. For Christ, our Passover lamb, has been sacrificed. Now it's in the tradition of the church. It's in the teaching of the early church. Christ is the Passover lamb. There were Passover lambs back in Egypt, but now there's just a Passover lamb, capital P-A-S-S-O-V-E-R, lamb, and he is Christ. This is what John was talking about. …

For God so loved the world that he gave his only son that all those who believe in him would not perish but have eternal life. They said, because why? Because the fourth part of the gospel is if we put our trust in Jesus, we can have new life. So here's the four parts, right? That God is good. He made this world good. The Triumph of God's Love (Romans 8:31-39)
John MacArthur, 2024-03-08

… However much love God can generate is exactly what He gives to His own. And Romans 5.8 says, God demonstrated His love for His own, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. He loved His own when they were yet sinners. He loved them so much it would be impossible to love them more because it would be impossible to do more than give His Son as a sacrifice. He loves His own with an everlasting, immeasurable love. This is the greatest gift a human being can be given. No matter how many other loves fail, this one never does. And it sounds too good, really. And some people who call themselves Christians think it is too good to assume that this love Love is that complete and permanent. Can we be sure, can we really be sure that we are loved like this all the way to the end, even in the ugliest moments of our lives? Well, the answer to that question is back in Romans 8, so let's go there. …

The Triumph of Divine Love (Romans 8:31-39)
John MacArthur, 2024-01-28

… This is a love reserved for His own. He loved His own who were in the world, His own. They were the ones that Romans 5.8 says God demonstrated His own love toward, in that while they were sinners, Christ died for them. He loved them. He loved them in the moment of their darkest, disappointing behavior. He loved them even when all their sins were heaped on Him, along with all the sins of all the rest who would ever believe. He loved them with an everlasting, immeasurable love. This really sounds too good. Can we be sure that He loves us like that? This is a powerful, powerful truth, and it needs to be fully understood. And to fully understand it, we have to go back to Romans chapter 8. Romans chapter 8. Here we have, I think, the greatest statement of this love that is ice telos, to the max, to the full, to the end. It's described here. And what I read to you has to be the most precious spiritual reality of all spiritual because we are given the confidence that we have an eternal salvation because we have a God who loves us to the max. …
