07/19/26 We Do Not Know How
Mike Schmitz, 2026-07-18 · Scripture reading

… Jesus proposed another parable to the crowds, saying, The kingdom of heaven may be likened to a man who sowed good seed in his field. While everyone was asleep, his enemy came and sowed weeds all through the wheat, and then went off. When the crop grew and bore fruit, the weeds appeared as well. The slaves of the householder came to him and said, Master, did you not sow good seed in your field? Where have the weeds come from? He answered, An enemy has done this. His slave said to him, Do you want us to go and pull them up? He replied, No, if you pull up the weeds, you might uproot the wheat along with them. Let them grow together until harvest. Then at the harvest time, I will say to the harvesters, First collect the weeds and tie them into bundles for burning. but gathered the wheat into my barn. He proposed another parable to them. The kingdom of heaven is like a mustard seed that a person took and sowed in a field. It is the smallest of all the seeds, yet when full grown, it is the largest of plants. It becomes a large bush, and the birds of the sky come and dwell in its branches. He spoke to them another parable. The kingdom of heaven is like yeast that a woman took and mixed with three measures of wheat flour until the whole batch was leavened. All these things Jesus spoke to the crowds in parables. He spoke to them only in …

The Last Kingdom, Part 4
Andy Stanley, 2026-03-27

… First one, the kingdom of heaven. The kingdom of heaven is like a mustard seed. Wait, what? The kingdom of heaven is like a seed? Yeah, the kingdom of heaven is like, is this supposed to be inspiring? He's like, I'm not done. The kingdom of heaven is like a mustard seed which a man took and planted in his field. Woo, like what? And though, Jesus said, it is, though it is the smallest of all seeds, in this culture, it was the smallest seed. You could barely see it. Though it is the smallest of all seeds, it's tiny. It's irrelevant. It's harmless. It's barely noticeable. He says, even though it's the smallest of all seeds yet, when it grows, it is the largest of garden plants. In fact, ultimately, it becomes a tree. What does that have to do with you and me? It depends. It depends. If faith is just about heaven, this has nothing to do with you or me. But if faith is about participating in the ever-expanding, unstoppable kingdom of God, it has everything to do with you and everything to do with me. …

It's Worth The Dirt
Steven Furtick, 2026-01-26

… Put your name in the chat. Open your Bible, please, to Matthew chapter 13, verses 31 and 32, and Matthew chapter 13, verse 44. I'm going to share a little scripture today with you that is really going to help you in your life. And if while I'm preaching, the microphone pops and struggles and strains underneath the weight of this anointing. I will scream so loud that the dude in the back row will fall down the stairs from the shock until my voice is raw and the Lord will speak. Now listen to this. This is Matthew chapter 13, verse 31 and 32, and Matthew chapter 13, verse 44. Jesus told them another parable. He said, The kingdom of heaven is like a mustard seed, which a man took and planted in his field, though it is the smallest of all seeds. Yet when it grows, it is the largest of garden plants and becomes a tree so that the birds come and perch in its branches. Wow. …

This Is Gonna Be Big
Pastor Jennie Lusko, 2025-12-15

… This is gonna be big, and my subtitle is the king is in the womb. So my title is this is gonna be big. My subtitle, The King is in the Womb. Matthew 13, verse 31. Another parable he put forth, this is Jesus speaking, to them saying, the kingdom of heaven is like a mustard seed, which a man took and sowed in his field, which indeed is the least of all the seeds. But when it is grown, it is greater than the herbs and becomes a tree so that the birds of the air come and nest in its branches. And Father, would you open up our eyes today? Would you soften up our hearts to receive the word that you have each and every one of us? Thank you that you are a God who sees us, who knows us individually. You see what we walked in here holding, carrying. And thank you that this is a moment in this season to be still and to know that you are God. …

Look at Matthew chapter 13. He told them another parable. The kingdom of heaven is like a mustard seed, which a man took and planted in his field. Though it is the smallest of all the seeds, yet when it grows, it is the largest of garden plants and becomes a tree so that all the birds come and perch in its branches. He told them still another parable. He said, the kingdom of heaven is like yeast that a woman took mixed into about 60 pounds of flour until it worked through the dough. I'm just telling you, God always turns small things and turns them into significant things. God always takes small little bitty seed and turns it into a big old tree where the birds will come and find refuge. You took your small part, God will make the significant part. Only I can do what only I can do. Only God can do what only God can do. Oh, I said it last week, but let me remind you Abraham's story. God said to Abraham, Abraham, if you get out of here, if you leave Rancho Cucamonga, it's a word in season every season watch what God said, I'll bless you, I'll make your name great, and all the descendants of the earth will be blessed through you, anybody here, you'd be down to be blessed by God, would you be down for that, what if God puts some respect on your name, some weight on your name, what if God …

Jesus The Jester #3 | “Weeds”
Scott Black Johnston, 2025-09-21 · Scripture reading

… beginning with the 24th verse. Jesus put before them another parable. The kingdom of heaven may be compared to someone who sowed good seed in his field. But while everyone was asleep, an enemy came and sowed weeds among the wheat and then went away. So when the plants came up and bore grain, then the weeds appeared as well. And the servants of the householder came and said to him, Master, did you not sow good seed in your field? Where then did these weeds come from? He answered, an enemy has done this. The servant said to him, then, do you want us to go and gather them? But he replied, no. For in gathering the weeds, you would uproot the wheat along with them. Let both of them grow together until the harvest. And at harvest time, I will tell the reapers, collect the weeds first and bind them in bundles to be burned. But gather the wheat into my barn. This is the word of God for you, the people of God. …
