He is like a tree planted by streams of water, yielding its fruit in season, whose leaf does not wither, and who prospers in all he does.He will be like a tree planted by the streams of water, that produces its fruit in its season, whose leaf also does not wither. Whatever he does shall prosper. And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper. And he shall be like a tree planted by the streams of water, That bringeth forth its fruit in its season, Whose leaf also doth not wither; And whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.

For All In The Family – Part 2
Jack Hibbs, 2026-10-04

… but try to remind yourself of that invest in what Psalm 1 is announcing to you here meditate on that day and night verse 3 he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water Wow, that makes me happy. That brings forth its fruit in its season. Happy. Whose leaf also shall not wither. Happy again. And whatever he does shall prosper. Are you happy about that? That is awesome. That's the Bible, folks. That's God's word. Incredible. Wonderful. But here's the challenge. And I need to put this gently at the bottom of verse 4 in the notes. I definitely don't care how young or how old you might be. and I lovingly don't care about your life's experience. I mean this lovingly. I lovingly don't care how you're feeling right now. No, I mean, I'm going somewhere to make you happy. the question is this will you be willing to apply god's word to your life kind of what i pointed out a moment ago to transcend all of those other things i just mentioned a moment ago where it doesn't matter in the long term how things are going now because what's going on now in my life as a believer in the word of God, sets the trajectory for my future. …

… if you really get it if if I can touch people through your life maybe they'll know I'm really real. And so I, I battle with this daily. I battle because I want to see what Psalms one verse three says, which is our anchor scripture. And if you haven't, I want you to turn to that real quick. I want to be like this. I want to be like a tree planted. Everybody say planted. I want to be like a tree planted along the riverbanks, bearing fruit in each season where their leaves never wither and they prosper in all they do, all they do. But that seems really like a big idea. It seems like something maybe I'll get to when I die. Like maybe if I could just have one day of being like that tree and then God call me home. But God said, no, no, no, no. I see you like that while I see you like you are. And the enemy's plan is to convince you that you are too ill-equipped to move from where you are to the next step of where God wants you to be. …

We Glorify God…
David Platt, 2026-09-02

… listen to verse three, like a tree planted by streams of water that yields its fruit in its season. And its leaf does not wither, and all that he does, he prospers. Do you see three pictures here, three pictures of happiness? So the first one, he's like a tree planted by streams of water that yields its fruit. So happiness, we're gonna write out kind of a description of this. Let's start with this. happiness is being fruitful. Fruitful. Like think about it, think about it this way. You got two trees. You got a barren tree that is dead. You have a tree that is alive and bearing fruit. If those are your two options, which one do you want to be? Which one do you want to depict your life. And the whole picture here is God is saying, I want you to be full of life and not just yourself, but in a way that is nourishing to others around you. Don't you want a life that's refreshing and nourishing and encouraging to the people around you? Fruitful as opposed to the opposite. So come back to this. You've got a picture of fruitful. Then next picture, its leaf does not wither. So let's call that durable. Durable. So its leaf doesn't wither. …

The Christian’s Pursuit of Happiness
Alistair Begg, 2026-08-27 · Scripture reading

… But their delight is in the law of the Lord, and on his law he meditates day and night. He's like a tree planted by streams of water that yields its fruit in its season, and its leaf does not wither. In all that he does he prospers. The wicked are not so, but are like chaff that the wind drives away. Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous. For the Lord knows the way of the righteous, but the way of the wicked will perish." In the mail that came most recently during the past week, part of it was a letter that was accompanied by a book, a book that I had never seen, an older book. It was written by Alexander White, who lived in the 19th century into the 20th century. He was the minister of Free St. George's in Edinburgh, and for 40 years or so, he went there as an assistant to a man called Candledge, and eventually he became the senior minister. …

Why Some Hear and Some Don’t
Skip Heitzig, 2026-08-16

… In his law does he meditate day and night. He shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water that brings forth its fruit in its season. Its leaf does not wither, and whatever he does will prosper. That's the fruitful heart. when Paul wrote a little letter to Thessalonian Christians, listen to what he said. We also thank God without ceasing because when you receive the word of God which you heard from us, you welcomed it, not as the word of men, but as it is in truth, the word of God. That's the receptive heart, which also effectively works in you who believe. It's pretty evident because you have root system. So if you have no root, you'll have no fruit. If you have root, there will be fruit. One brings the other. but as we close this, I want you to notice the very end of verse 20. Jesus gives us a very unusual, I would say unexpected ending. And that is this farmer, this farmer reaps way more than he has sown. …

The Power of Knowing the Truth
John K. Jenkins Sr., 2026-04-16

… And in his law does he meditate day and night. He shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that whatsoever he doeth shall prosper. The ungodly are not so, but are like the shaft with the wind. Y'all excuse me, I feel like running around the building. Then. you keep wondering why your life keeps falling down you keep wondering while ain't nothing succeeding you keep wondering why God does open up a door for you because you so busy focuses on everything but him obeying everybody but him you've got everybody else calling the shots on your life why don't you give God, give Jesus a chance to order your life. So the word is success. Put those words back up there. The word is success. This is how I remember these principles. I didn't learn them this way, but I organized them this way. Go ahead, Pastor. And I put them in an order that spells success. And I've been teaching these principles for 37 years. …

The Way Of Wisdom
Jack Hibbs, 2026-04-12

… the word of God, and in his law he meditates day and night. He shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water that brings forth fruit in its own season. This is beautiful. If I was a dictator in education, I would make this like the commencement service for every high school or college. Wow, look at that. Whose leaf also shall not wither, and whatever he does shall prosper. The ungodly are not so, but are like the chaff which the wind drives away. Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous. For the Lord knows the way of the righteous, the way of the ungodly, shall perish. That's David. Listen, that's Psalm 1, and it begins to go proverb-like at verse 6. You're going to hear a lot of this. Proverbs are the teachings, and I'll give you more of the exact definition in a moment. Proverbs are like teaching by what's contrary, or the opposites. There is the godly, they shall prosper. The wicked will come to destruction. …

… output. And so we talked about how God equates us often in scripture to trees. How many places, as he said, and you shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water that brings forth its fruit in its season, whose leaf will not wither, and whatever he does shall prosper. And so what we're doing, we miss oftentimes, we think about the tree prospering, we think about the fruit, and we think about the leaves not withering, but you missed it. He said you're like a tree planted by the rivers of water. In other words, if you are not planted by the rivers of water, you are not going to bring forth fruit, and you're not going to bring forth it consistently. I feel this for somebody. I hear this clearly. I just want to say it. It's a root problem. You think it's a fruit problem, but it's a root. Oh, I feel the Holy Ghost. Somebody's getting ready to get restored. Somebody's getting ready to get reconnected. …

FEAST: Five Prayers for Daily Bible Reading
Marshall Segal, 2025-07-19 · Scripture reading

… nor sits in the seat of scoffers but his delight is in the law of the lord and on his law he meditates day and night he is like a tree planted by streams of water that yields its fruit in season and its leaf does not wither, in all he does, he prospers. Blessed, happy is the man who walks not in the ways of the wicked, of sinners, of scoffers, but who meditates on his law day and night. Why is he so happy? Why? you could say it's because life is going so well in all that he does he prospers who wouldn't be happy if everything was going that well might be part of the answer you could say it's because he's avoided the foolishness and the misery of sinners the consequences that inevitably come for people who live a lifestyle of sinning he's not bearing those consequences? That might be another part of the answer. I don't think that's the main reason this man's so happy, though. …

Spiritual Warfare - Part 2: The Belt of Truth
John K. Jenkins Sr., 2025-03-10

… Somebody holler out and say day and night. He shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water that brings forth its fruit in its season, whose leaf also shall not wither. And whatever he does shall prosper. I wish I had an amen. Whatever he does, wherever he goes, whatever he touches, whatever he begins, wherever path he takes, whatever he does shall cross. That devil wants you to think something different. But I got great news. You can win. Go ahead. Tell that person sitting next to you. You can win. You can pass that class. You can win that race. You can build that business. You can win. Y'all got those seven? What's number one? Number two Number three Number four Number five Number six Number seven Now here's how I try to teach people to easily remember this Is the word success The first S is self-acceptance The U is under authority The first C is character The second C is change. The next letter in success is the letter E, even though I told you it's ownership. …

Serious Worship and Self-Examination (Ephesians 4:17-24)
John MacArthur, 2022-03-11 · Scripture reading

… But his delight is in the law of the Lord, and in His law he meditates day and night. He will be like a tree planted firmly by streams of water, which yields its fruit in its season, and its leaf doesn't wither, and in whatever he does he prospers." That's one kind of worshiper coming through the gate. Here's another kind. The wicked are not so, but they're like chaff which the wind drives away. Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the assembly of the righteous. For the Lord knows the way of the righteous, but the way of the wicked will perish." God is saying to the worshipers as they enter the temple, I know who you are. You can't fool me. I know you. You don't belong in the assembly of the righteous because you're going to perish. You're among the perishing. This is the gate to worship. God expects worshipers to be true worshipers. God is not honored in the false and hypocritical worship of the wicked. …

… In his law he meditates day and night. He will be like a tree planted by the rivers of water that bring forth its fruit in its season, whose leaf also shall not wither. Whatever he does shall prosper. This is a tandem passage to Joshua chapter 1. Now, we've heard recently the drought in all of California is officially over. Thank you, Lord Jesus. Thank you, Lord Jesus. But I'd like to suggest to you, the trees along the Sacramento River, they were never informed that there was actually a drought. the trees along the river never knew never knew there was a drought and the one who meditates in the word does not go through the seasons of drought that others go through because the roots start reaching down into the subterranean streams and taps into the rivers of God where there is always more than enough, always more than enough. The word of God flows from his heart towards you and me continuously. It is 24 seven. It's why David would say, I wake in the night watches and I consider your works. I wake in the night watches while I lie on my bed. I consider your word. And he meditates and he prays over these words that have been spoken over his life. Where? In bed. You wake up at night, you might as well make it useful. You might as well make it useful. I do. If I have a verse that I'm part, let's just say the Psalms 127 verse …
