Psalms 141

1A Psalm of David. I call upon You, O LORD; come quickly to me. Hear my voice when I call to You.A Psalm by David. Yahweh, I have called on you. Come to me quickly! Listen to my voice when I call to you.A Psalm of David. Lord, I cry unto thee: make haste unto me; give ear unto my voice, when I cry unto thee.A Psalm of David. Jehovah, I have called upon thee; make haste unto me: Give ear unto my voice, when I call unto thee. 2May my prayer be set before You like incense; my uplifted hands, like the evening offering.Let my prayer be set before you like incense; the lifting up of my hands like the evening sacrifice.Let my prayer be set forth before thee as incense; and the lifting up of my hands as the evening sacrifice.Let my prayer be set forth as incense before thee; The lifting up of my hands as the evening sacrifice. 3Set a guard, O LORD, over my mouth; keep watch at the door of my lips.Set a watch, Yahweh, before my mouth. Keep the door of my lips.Set a watch, O Lord, before my mouth; keep the door of my lips.Set a watch, O Jehovah, before my mouth; Keep the door of my lips. 4Do not let my heart be drawn to any evil thing or take part in works of wickedness with men who do iniquity; let me not feast on their delicacies.Don’t incline my heart to any evil thing, to practice deeds of wickedness with men who work iniquity. Don’t let me eat of their delicacies.Incline not my heart to any evil thing, to practise wicked works with men that work iniquity: and let me not eat of their dainties.Incline not my heart to any evil thing, To practise deeds of wickedness With men that work iniquity: And let me not eat of their dainties. 5Let the righteous man strike me; let his rebuke be an act of loving devotion. It is oil for my head; let me not refuse it. For my prayer is ever against the deeds of the wicked.Let the righteous strike me, it is kindness; let him reprove me, it is like oil on the head; don’t let my head refuse it; Yet my prayer is always against evil deeds.Let the righteous smite me; it shall be a kindness: and let him reprove me; it shall be an excellent oil, which shall not break my head: for yet my prayer also shall be in their calamities.Let the righteous smite me, it shall be a kindness; And let him reprove me, it shall be as oil upon the head; Let not my head refuse it: For even in their wickedness shall my prayer continue. 6When their rulers are thrown down from the cliffs, the people will listen to my words, for they are pleasant.Their judges are thrown down by the sides of the rock. They will hear my words, for they are well spoken. When their judges are overthrown in stony places, they shall hear my words; for they are sweet.Their judges are thrown down by the sides of the rock; And they shall hear my words; for they are sweet. 7As when one plows and breaks up the soil, so our bones have been scattered at the mouth of Sheol.“As when one plows and breaks up the earth, our bones are scattered at the mouth of Sheol.”Our bones are scattered at the grave’s mouth, as when one cutteth and cleaveth wood upon the earth. As when one ploweth and cleaveth the earth, Our bones are scattered at the mouth of Sheol. 8But my eyes are fixed on You, O GOD the Lord. In You I seek refuge; do not leave my soul defenseless. For my eyes are on you, Yahweh, the Lord. I take refuge in you. Don’t leave my soul destitute. But mine eyes are unto thee, O God the Lord: in thee is my trust; leave not my soul destitute. For mine eyes are unto thee, O Jehovah the Lord: In thee do I take refuge; leave not my soul destitute. 9Keep me from the snares they have laid for me, and from the lures of evildoers.Keep me from the snare which they have laid for me, from the traps of the workers of iniquity.Keep me from the snares which they have laid for me, and the gins of the workers of iniquity.Keep me from the snare which they have laid for me, And from the gins of the workers of iniquity. 10Let the wicked fall into their own nets, while I pass by in safety.Let the wicked fall together into their own nets while I pass by.Let the wicked fall into their own nets, whilst that I withal escape.Let the wicked fall into their own nets, Whilst that I withal escape.
