Psalms 14

1For the choirmaster. Of David. The fool says in his heart, “There is no God.” They are corrupt; their acts are vile. There is no one who does good. For the Chief Musician. By David. The fool has said in his heart, “There is no God.” They are corrupt. They have done abominable deeds. There is no one who does good.To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David. The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good. For the Chief Musician. A Psalm of David. The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works; There is none that doeth good. 2The LORD looks down from heaven upon the sons of men to see if any understand, if any seek God.Yahweh looked down from heaven on the children of men, to see if there were any who understood, who sought after God.The Lord looked down from heaven upon the children of men, to see if there were any that did understand, and seek God.Jehovah looked down from heaven upon the children of men, To see if there were any that did understand, That did seek after God. 3All have turned away, they have together become corrupt; there is no one who does good, not even one. They have all gone aside. They have together become corrupt. There is no one who does good, no, not one. They are all gone aside, they are all together become filthy: there is none that doeth good, no, not one. They are all gone aside; they are together become filthy; There is none that doeth good, no, not one. 4Will the workers of iniquity never learn? They devour my people like bread; they refuse to call upon the LORD.Have all the workers of iniquity no knowledge, who eat up my people as they eat bread, and don’t call on Yahweh?Have all the workers of iniquity no knowledge? who eat up my people as they eat bread, and call not upon the Lord.Have all the workers of iniquity no knowledge, Who eat up my people as they eat bread, And call not upon Jehovah? 5There they are, overwhelmed with dread, for God is in the company of the righteous. There they were in great fear, for God is in the generation of the righteous. There were they in great fear: for God is in the generation of the righteous. There were they in great fear; For God is in the generation of the righteous. 6You sinners frustrate the plans of the oppressed, yet the LORD is their shelter. You frustrate the plan of the poor, because Yahweh is his refuge.Ye have shamed the counsel of the poor, because the Lord is his refuge.Ye put to shame the counsel of the poor, Because Jehovah is his refuge. 7Oh, that the salvation of Israel would come from Zion! When the LORD restores His captive people, let Jacob rejoice, let Israel be glad!Oh that the salvation of Israel would come out of Zion! When Yahweh restores the fortunes of his people, then Jacob shall rejoice, and Israel shall be glad.Oh that the salvation of Israel were come out of Zion! when the Lord bringeth back the captivity of his people, Jacob shall rejoice, and Israel shall be glad.Oh that the salvation of Israel were come out of Zion! When Jehovah bringeth back the captivity of his people, Then shall Jacob rejoice, and Israel shall be glad.
