Psalms 127

1A song of ascents. Of Solomon. Unless the LORD builds the house, its builders labor in vain; unless the LORD protects the city, its watchmen stand guard in vain.A Song of Ascents. By Solomon. Unless Yahweh builds the house, they who build it labor in vain. Unless Yahweh watches over the city, the watchman guards it in vain.A Song of degrees for Solomon. Except the Lord build the house, they labour in vain that build it: except the Lord keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain.A Song of Ascents; of Solomon. Except Jehovah build the house, They labor in vain that build it: Except Jehovah keep the city, The watchman waketh but in vain. 2In vain you rise early and stay up late, toiling for bread to eat—for He gives sleep to His beloved. It is vain for you to rise up early, to stay up late, eating the bread of toil, for he gives sleep to his loved ones.It is vain for you to rise up early, to sit up late, to eat the bread of sorrows: for so he giveth his beloved sleep. It is vain for you to rise up early, To take rest late, To eat the bread of toil; For so he giveth unto his beloved sleep. 3Children are indeed a heritage from the LORD, and the fruit of the womb is His reward.Behold, children are a heritage of Yahweh. The fruit of the womb is his reward.Lo, children are an heritage of the Lord: and the fruit of the womb is his reward.Lo, children are a heritage of Jehovah; And the fruit of the womb is his reward. 4Like arrows in the hand of a warrior, so are children born in one’s youth. As arrows in the hand of a mighty man, so are the children of youth. As arrows are in the hand of a mighty man; so are children of the youth. As arrows in the hand of a mighty man, So are the children of youth. 5Blessed is the man whose quiver is full of them. He will not be put to shame when he confronts the enemies at the gate.Happy is the man who has his quiver full of them. They won’t be disappointed when they speak with their enemies in the gate.Happy is the man that hath his quiver full of them: they shall not be ashamed, but they shall speak with the enemies in the gate.Happy is the man that hath his quiver full of them: They shall not be put to shame, When they speak with their enemies in the gate.
