… so the list that exists in the Bible are not to restrict or confine God they are lists that reveal God so chapter Psalms 115 verse 3 says but our God is in heaven he does whatever he pleases that's like my favorite verse he does whatever he pleases verse 4 their idols are silver and gold the work of men's hands they have mouths but they do not speak. Eyes they have, but they do not see. They have ears, but they do not hear. Noses they have, but they do not smell. They have hands, but they do not handle. Feet they have, but they do not walk. Nor do they mutter through their throats. Those who make them are like them. So is everyone who trusts in them. What you fear determines what you trust. What you trust is what you become like. In this case, it's a strange story of molded images. It may be out of stone. It could be out of wood or rock. …
… You might be thinking, what? Well, Psalm 115, verses 3 through 7. God, check this out, this is about false God. Our God is in heaven. He does whatever pleases him. But their idols are silver and gold made by human hands. They have mouths, but they cannot speak. Think about the gods that I've talked about already. They can't speak. We have a God, though, that speaks to us through his word. through situations and conversations, through worship, on and on and on. They have mouths but cannot speak. Eyes but cannot see. Our God sees it all. There's no such thing as a closed office door, bedroom door, or car door. God sees it all in the brilliant blaze of his glory. Idols can't do it. They don't have the juice to do it. They have ears but cannot hear. God hears everything. The Bible says even when we don't even know how to articulate our prayers, He takes our moanings and groanings and sighs, and he knows what we're saying. …
… His delight from God's delight in God. Psalm 115 verse 3, Our God is in the heavens. He does all that He pleases. How could He not be happy? He does everything that He pleases. And so He's the happiest being in the universe. How could he be anything but happy? And it pleases this God to please you in him. it makes the happy God happy to make you as happy as humanly possible in him. One of his great pleasures that we read about through scripture is that he raises up, forgives, redeems, adopts, secures, satisfies a people for himself. It makes the happy God happy to make you happy in him. And so King David sings, Psalm 1611, You make known to me the path of life. In your presence there is fullness of joy. At your right hand are pleasures forevermore. It's hard to imagine that could possibly be the case for us. Fullness of joy forevermore if God were not happy. But he is. you're going to see the happy God. …
