What on Earth Am I Here For? · Part 2
Rick Warren, 2026-10-23

… Raphael, and I'm really blessed to hear how you wake up every day expecting God to speak to you. Psalm 130 verse 5 says, I wait expectantly, trusting God to help, for he has promised. You know, it's wonderful to know that God's using daily hope to strengthen your faith, and that you are using it to help your friends and family learn to hear from God too. So Raphael, thank you for taking the time to translate daily hope for your father. That shows that you really care about him and you care about others learning the hope that we have in Jesus. Now our team, I'm going to say this to everybody, our team is working really hard to translate daily hope teaching. And as new languages become available, we're going to post them for free on rickwarren.org. That's rickwarren.org. You can go and see the translations we've already got. And if you can help us by financially supporting a translation, that would make all the difference in the world. …

God bless you.

When You Don’t Know What To Do
Guest speaker, 2026-06-24

… Wait for the Lord and he will save you. Next one, Psalm 130, verse five. I will wait for the Lord, and then he declares, my soul waits, and in his word, I do hope. Psalm 25 verse 3. Indeed, let no one who waits on you be ashamed. Let those be ashamed who deal treacherously without a cause. Now sometimes when we hear the term wait on the Lord, it may seem like Christianese and ambiguous and we really don't know what it means. Well, biblically speaking, waiting on the Lord is different than waiting in line. It's different than waiting for something you've ordered at a restaurant, and it's different than waiting at the DMV. Thank God. Waiting on the Lord is an active process of seeking God while patiently waiting for Him to act on your behalf. Let me say that one more time. Waiting on the Lord is an active process of seeking God while waiting for him to act on your behalf. If you want to know what that looks like, look at the first four points from tonight. The first four points illustrate Hezekiah waiting on the Lord. Once you notice, he was not rash. He did not go out and make a foolish decision. …

What to Do When Your Spirits Sink
John Piper, 2025-11-29

… to wait as we ought to wait requires humility it also requires hope psalm 39 and now lord what do i wait for my hope is in you or psalm 130 i wait for the lord my soul waits and in his word do I hope. Waiting is not listlessness. That's not the posture. As a deer plants, as a deer pants for the water brook, so my soul pants for thee, O God. My soul thirsts for God. There's a leaning in to when will he arrive, and what will he do, and how will he bring me out of this? He's coming. I know he's coming. He's going to come at the right time. He's going to bring the right deliverance, and I'm waiting humbly because I don't deserve anything better than this, and I'm waiting hopefully because he's a good father. That's the posture of waiting. The king's pit, the king's cry, the king's patience, and now the king's rescue. Verse two, he drew me up from the pit of destruction out of the miry bog and set my feet upon a rock making my steps secure. …
