I am FORGIVEN and Free - Louie Giglio
Louie Giglio, 2026-10-05

… This is just the greatest news that there is. The Lord is compassionate and gracious, slow to anger and abounding in love. How could a good God send anyone to an eternity without him? He doesn't. our God doesn't send people to an eternity without him our God is compassionate and gracious slow to anger and abounding in love and anyone who ends up in an eternity without him does it because of their own choice to reject a compassionate God who is slow to anger and abounding in love. He will not always accuse, nor will he harbor his anger forever. For he does not treat us as our sins deserve or repay us according to our iniquities. For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is his love for those who fear him. the east is from the west. So far has he removed our transgressions from us. As a father has compassion on his children, so the Lord has compassion on those who fear him. For he knows how we are formed. He remembers that we are dust. You might be thinking, Louis, I've made so many bad choices in my life. I've messed up so many times. There have been so many potholes in the journey. And I'm thinking, if I'm, you know, thinking rightly, what I'm going to get from God is I'm going to get wrath, rejection, condemnation, and a massive guilt trip. That's what I'm getting. …

As For Me and My House
Guest speaker, 2026-06-21

… The Bible says in Psalm 111, verse 4, he has made his wonderful works to be remembered. The Lord is gracious and full of compassion. He has made his wonderful works, that word wonderful works, it means marvelous events, miracles. They are to be remembered. They are not to be forgotten. when the Lord works in a wonderful way in your life, do not let yourself forget it. Remind yourself of it often. a while back I was given good counsel and wisdom by someone who has poured into my life and they said to make a notebook. Get a notebook, just a plain notebook and call it the wonderful works of God in your life though. And periodically get that notebook and when God does something amazing, and he's always doing amazing things, let's be real. When he does something amazing, write it down, lest you forget. And at least once a year, go back and read it and be reminded of how he has come through in the past because you're going to need that reminder on the days when you can't see what God's doing. …

How to Pray When Trouble Comes
Marshall Segal, 2025-09-20

… will show the world what kind of God you are that you are gracious and merciful slow to anger and abounding rich in steadfast love that you never abandon your children that you own everything in the universe and you will spend your infinite riches to care for us that you have the power and authority to heal any illness and to mend any relationship no matter how helpless it seems. You can do it. how glorious will you look, oh God, if you do this? God, glorify your name through my need. this prayer for God to glorify his name among all the nations it serves at least two great purposes for us though in trouble first it grounds our hope that he might actually do something he loves to glorify his name and he glorifies his name by loving us he'll care for us because that's how he reveals his glory to the world but second a prayer like this glorify your name it widens our eyes beyond our immediate need or heartache to remember who God is and what he's doing in the world. …

Taking Control of Your Emotions
Craig Groeschel, 2025-07-06

… I knew that you are a gracious and compassionate God, slow to anger and abounding in love. May we pause there for a moment. God, I know you are a compassionate God, slow to anger and abounding in love. What kind of God do we serve? We serve a compassionate God, slow to anger and abounding in love. He says a God who relents from sending calamity. And then he says, hey, I don't like what you're doing, God. So take away my life, for it's better for me to die than to live. If you're gonna let these evil people off, I don't even want to live. Jonah, the prophet of God, says. Can we just slow it down for a minute and acknowledge? There's a lot of drama here. You guys are being really quiet. Are you with me? There's a lot of drama here, right? I mean, I'm kind of like, really, Jonah? Really? I mean, this is God. And you're gonna throw this fit? Now, it's really easy to throw Jonah under the bus until you put yourself in his shoes. …

… kindness and truth, forgiving iniquity, transgression, and sin. Nehemiah 9.17, You are a God of forgiveness, gracious and compassionate, slow to anger, and abounding in loving kindness. And I read earlier Psalm 103, as far as the east is from the west, so far has He removed our transgressions from us. How far is the east from the west? That's an infinite line. In Isaiah 38, 17, it says of God, You have cast all my sins behind Your back. Isaiah 43, 25, I, even I, am the one who wipes out your transgressions for my own sake, and I will not remember your sins. What an amazing message. That is the message of the true and living God. That is the essence of the Christian gospel. It's not a form of morality. It's not a form of philanthropy, human goodness. The gospel is the only way that you can have your sins forgiven, and that's the only way you'll escape hell. In the book of Micah, the prophet in verses 18 and 19 of chapter 7, Micah 7, 18 and 19, Who is a God like you who pardons iniquity and passes over the rebellious act of the remnant of His possession? …

… Then verse 8 says, this is the amazing thing, the Lord is compassionate and gracious, slow to anger, and abounding in lovingkindness." That's the Old Testament word for grace. While God will judge all sin, and I mean all sin, all evil, at the same time He is compassionate and gracious, slow to anger, and abounding in lovingkindness, hesed, which is essentially grace. He will not always fight with us. He will not always be angry forever. He has not dealt with us according to our sins, nor rewarded us according to our iniquities. You mean you can escape His anger? You mean you can escape His wrath? Yes. Verse 11, for as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is His loving kindness toward those who what? Who fear Him. As far as the east is from the west, so far has He removed our transgressions from us. Just as the Father has compassion on His children, so the Lord has compassion on those who fear Him, for He Himself knows our frame. …
