… us in number heaven because number six, heaven's inhabitants will be full of joy. Heaven's inhabitants will be full of joy. This comes from Psalm 16, verse 11. David said this, you will show me the path of life in your presence. And God's presence is fullness of joy. So God isn't just going to deliver us from sorrow and crying. That would be amazing just if we didn't have sorrow and crying. But he's going to replace sorrow and crying with fullness of joy. You can't get any more full than full. There's gonna be fullness of joy. Think of a time here in this life when you were full of joy. Man, you just felt like dancing. Maybe you got a new job offer or, you know, maybe it was after a sweet time of worship or whatever and you, man, you were overflowing with joy. Can you imagine living throughout eternity with that kind of joy? No more worries or depression or loneliness or anger or strife, just perfect joy without end with nothing to ever interrupt it. …

Bruce Creswell | The Best is Yet to Come
Bruce Creswell, 2026-06-01

… You and I will eternally and increasingly experience what the psalmist said in Psalm 16 verse 11. you make me known the path of life in your presence there is fullness of joy at your right hand there are pleasures forevermore now you and i have pleasures you know some of us like to go to a restaurant and enjoy our favorite meal pleasures would may be having the grandchildren over and watching them and enjoying their little ways. Pleasure is like going out to the country up on the mountains or on a ship, on the sea. What pleasure we get out of that. But dear ones, the pleasures we enjoy now will be nothing like the pleasures that await us when we're in his presence forevermore. some of you have called upon to wear iron shoes and go through many trials and many hardships in life so you don't know much about pleasure but just remember that one day the best is yet to come and we shall live happily ever after i think we got a little taste of that heavenly joy two Sunday nights ago at our Ascension concert, singing about our Lord and our heavenly home. Wasn't it good to think about heaven? Wasn't it good to think about Christ is there and he's interceding for us and he's coming again for us? Wasn't it good to sing about heaven. Well, that's just a foretaste of what awaits us when we shall see him one day. Even though life now …

… and pleasures forevermore Psalm 16 11 one of the great challenges for pastors is so to speak of these two strands that in the minds and the hearts and the feelings and the words and the actions of their people, they would weave these two strands together biblically. So how are your people to understand that they are glorious and yet they live totally for the glory of another? How does that work? How is your church to understand that she is glorious when she looks anything but glorious? When the Bible itself says that the Christian life is fraught with tribulation, distress, persecution, famine, nakedness, danger, sword, and when we will be hated, not glorified, in the world. we will deal with the ugliness of indwelling sin in our lives till the day we die the best among us may be called the scum of the world and the refuse of all things and when you come to die it will not be glorious sown in dishonor. You're pastors. …

Prayer that Amazes Jesus
David Platt, 2026-01-28

… This is, we read this in our Bible reading. Psalm chapter 16, verse 11. Let me pull it up here. Where is it? There we go. Psalm 16, verse 11. in your presence, there is fullness of joy. At your right hand, there are pleasures forevermore. That's amazing. Fullness of joy. You can't get any more than that. That's all joy. There's nothing lacking. And it goes on forevermore. Fullness of joy, that's quality. Infinite quality, forevermore, that's quantity. Forever and ever. Like, just imagine what God has in store for us from himself and from his hand a thousand years from now and a million years from now. And we're only getting started. I love Randy Alcorn, his book on heaven. He writes, skydiving without a parachute? Maybe. Scuba diving without an air tank? I hope so. Will we be able to tolerate diving to depths of hundreds of feet without special equipment? We know that our resurrection bodies will be superior. Won't it be fantastic to test their limits, to invent new technologies that extend our ability to explore and enjoy God in the mighty realms he makes. …

Speak Boldly – Part 2
David Platt, 2026-01-14

… nor will you let your Holy One see decay. You have made known to me the paths of life. You will fill me with joy in your presence. Now there he's quoting from Psalms. Anybody know where? Psalms chapter 16. You're catching on. All right. Verses 8 through 11. He's quoting from Psalms. So now we've got Joel. Then we've got Psalms chapter 16. Then he continues. Brothers, I can tell you confidently that the patriarch David died and was buried. And his tomb is here to this day. But he was a prophet and knew that God had promised him on oath that he would place one of his descendants on his throne. Seeing what was ahead, he spoke of the resurrection of the Christ, that he was not abandoned to the grave, nor did his body see decay. God has raised this Jesus to life, and we are all witnesses of this fact. Exalted to the right hand of God, he has received from the Father the promised Holy Spirit and has poured out what you now see and hear. …

Happiness Feels So Far Away
Craig Groeschel, 2025-07-27

… God, you make my lot secure. You make known to me the path of life. God, you will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand. David swatched that with God. You alone, God, you are my portion. God, you are my joy. You are what I need. You are what I seek. You are what I desire. You are living water. You restore the joy of my salvation. Why? Because lasting happiness and true joy is found in a who, not in a what. And so what I wanna do is, like to our church family, I wanna plead with you, do not fall victim to the happiness gospel. It's everywhere right now. It's everywhere. Live your best life. Do what makes you happy. Live your truth. Chase your dreams. Follow your heart. Your happiness is all that matters. Most of us, we've done that. We pursued what we wanted. We've justified our sin. We've stepped away from the standards of God in the name of pursuing our own happiness. …
