He is Him
Chad Veach, 2026-01-12 · Scripture reading

about fasting and praying, the reason why we're fasting and praying is because we're not going to have our head down this year. We're going to lift up our eyes. Come on, clap. If you got faith, to lift up your, come on, lift up your heads. We're lifting up our eyes. The Bible says in Psalm 121, I lift my eyes to the mountains. Where does my help come from? It comes from you, the maker of heaven and earth. So I like that the Bible's telling us, come on, 2026, lift up your heads, lift up your heads. Verse nine, lift up your heads, you gates, lift them up, you ancient doors that the king of glory may come in. Who is he? This king of glory. He is the Lord almighty. He is the king of glory. Write down the title of today's message is called he is him. I like that, that title right there. He is him. I like that because we live in a generation that likes to say like, I am him. You know, I got seven year olds in my home trying to tell me, I am him. I'm like, fam, you don't have armpit hair. You are not him. But we live in this generation. It's like, I don't know if you've seen this, but the university of Indiana, Indiana university is about to play next Monday for their first time in school history for a national championship in Miami. And it's the first time a basketball school has ever done this. …

Enjoying Jesus in Sexual Purity
Marshall Segal, 2026-01-03

Longs for him, looks for him, goes hunting for him. Purity in the Bible isn't only about the absence of sin. It is about that. He does not lift his soul up to what is false. But it's not only or mainly about what we don't look at or do in secret. No, purity is mainly about a single-minded, undivided seeking of God. it's a focused pursuit of God, his glory, his worth. So how do we become pure in heart? How do we put on that kind of undistracted, undivided seeking of God? Is it something that God does for us? Or is it something that we do for God? I say the answer is yes. This is the good news of the gospel, the good news that pulled me out of the pit of sexual failure and despair and set me on a rock of freedom and power and joy. This is the gospel. Do you know the good news, the whole good news of the gospel? 1 Corinthians 6, 9-11. …

A second meaning is, those who are born of a common progenitor. A third meaning of the word in Scripture, is, a certain race of mankind, whose generation and birth agree, not as to time, but as to descent and pedigree, or us to those persons from whom they originally proceeded. So it is to be understood, Matt. i. 1. “This is the book of the generation of Jesus Christ, the son of David, the son of Abraham;” that is, this is the book that gives an account of his pedigree. And this meaning, viz. those who are of the same race and descent, must be given to the word in the text. The righteous are often spoken of in Scripture as being a distinct generation. Psal. xiv. 5. “There were they in great fear: for God is in the generation of the righteous.” Psal. xxiv. 6. “This is the generation of them that seek him, that seek thy face, O Jacob.” Psal. lxxiii. 15. “If 1 say, I will speak»thus: behold, I should offend against the generation of thy children.” That the godly are a distinct race appears evident, since they are descended from God, they are a heavenly race, they are derived from above. The heathen were wont to feign that their heroes and great men were descended from the gods, but God’s people are descended from the true and living God, without any fiction. Psal. xxii. 30. “A seed shall serve him; it shall be accounted to the Lord for a generation.” That is, a seed, a posterity, shall serve him, and it shall be accounted to the Lord for his posterity or offspring. …
