The God of My Valleys - Part 1
Rick Warren, 2026-07-24

… inevitable, but not only are they inevitable, they're impartial. Good things happen to bad people, and bad things happen to good people. Valleys are impartial. Psalm 34 verse 19 says this, the good man does not escape all troubles. He has them too, but the Lord helps him in each and every one. A lot of people think, I got problems in my life. God's punishing me. No, no, God's not punishing me. This is part of being part of the human race. You're in a world that is broken and it's fallen. So we have problems. Nobody's immune. Sifted but Secure
John K. Jenkins Sr., 2026-02-04

… Anytime God puts his but in it, it means something's about to shift. Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord has delivered them out of them all. Anytime you see but, something's about to change. The wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life. Right here, verse 32, but I have prayed for you. You've been sifted, but there's a shift. I've prayed for you. I've interceded for you, Jesus says. Here's why we can enter into 2026, because Jesus has prayed for us. And what did he pray? He said, number one, I'm praying, number one, that your faith should not fail. Don't you know it is your faith that moves God? It's your belief and confidence in God. Whatever you do, do not let the enemy take your faith. Amen. Believe God through thick and thin. Believe God. Know that he's a way maker. Believe it is your faith that causes God to move on your behalf. It's your confidence in God. …

In this life, Jesus talking, you will have trials and tribulations. But be of good cheer. I've already overcome the world. The fact that he's already overcome the world does not change the fact that there will be trials and tribulations. When I was growing up, I never played basketball publicly But my brother and I would play shoot till you miss in the driveway Oh, I can shoot it now Problem is, I never learned how to play with pressure So what makes NBA stars who they are They get paid that much money Because they know how to shoot until you miss too But they know how to shoot it under pressure There is no greatness for you If you don't learn how to manage pressure you can only be great if you learn that pressure comes with the territory okay y'all think i'm making this up so here's your revelation for the confrontation here's your revelation for the pressure here it is keep reading verse two verse two then god said y'all read with me it's that good it's that good then god said you've been going around in circles in these hills long enough. Psalm 34 verse 19. If you find that in whatever version you have, as long as it says Bible, you're in good shape. I'll be reading out of the King James Version first and then I'll tiptoe around in the Message Bible a little bit before the sermon is completed. If you're able to stand with me, stand in body or stand in spirit as we honor and reverence God's word today. Tell somebody beside you, tell them I'm ready to eat. The 34th Psalm, the 34th Psalm, verse 19 reads like this. many are the afflictions of the righteous thank you you may be seated many are the afflictions of the righteous somebody can say i know that's right many many many many many are the afflictions of the righteous i want to talk today from this thought very simply a biopsy of our burdens. A biopsy on our burdens. A biopsy on our burdens. You know, I was reflecting with over the over the year as we came to the first Sunday of the 11th month of this year and if you would allow me to use the linguistics from hip-hop culture, it's been a hell of a year for me. I know some of you that's just too harsh and it just pierces your ears to hear me say that. Well, that's your problem because I'm testifying. It has been a hell of a year for me. I thought 2020 threw some stuff, but literally from the opening, from the commencement of January of this year, it's just been a heavy year. The same day that those rioters stormed the Capitol was the same day that we found out something was going wrong with my grandma. …
