… and give God a chance to change your spouse. Psalm 62, verse eight. Trust God all the time. Tell him all your problems because God is your protection. Your spouse is not your protection. God is your protection. Trust God all the time. Tell him your problem. Don't tell him to your boyfriend, your girlfriend, or whoever that is, the guy at work. Tell him to God because God is your protection and God specializes in miracles. and God can transform anything. And I've seen it thousands of times in this church. You know, Elizabeth Barrett Browning, the famous poet said, whoever loves believes the impossible. Why? Because love not only extends grace, love expresses faith. It never stops believing. It always trusts. It never loses faith. I want you to write down, I must choose to express faith in people every day. You want to be a great lover? I must choose to express faith in people every day. Every time you express faith in people, somebody around you, you are showing love to that child, to that coworker, to that spouse, to that friend. …
… and show you great and mighty things which you do not know. Trust in him at all times. This is Psalm 62, eight, you people, pour out your hearts before him. God is a refuge for us. James 4, eight, draw near to God and he will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners and purify your hearts, you double-minded. Matthew 11, 28, this is Jesus. Come to me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, I will give you rest. Hebrews 4, 16, let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in a time of need. Man, when life just gets ahold of you and you're like, I need grace, I am in a time of need. Go boldly to God. He wants you there in that place. But then what I love is we see in the life of Thomas that he forms you as well. So we leave the world and then we are allowing God to form us, form our hearts, form our minds, form our character, form us through our beliefs and struggles and doubts. …
… Another encouragement to put our trust in God's faithfulness. He says, verse 8, trust in him at all times. O people, pour out your heart before him. God wants us to trust him. And of course, most of us know Proverbs 3, 5, and 6, but in case you don't, you might turn there. And he says, trust in the Lord with all your heart. He says, don't lean on your own understanding, but in all your ways acknowledge him and he shall direct your path. Acknowledging what about him? Acknowledging his will for our life, acknowledging his trustworthiness, that he is a faithful God who is going to keep His promise to us, and He is going to do exactly what He promised to do. So when you think about the fact that all of us are going through changing seasons of life, and we need some anchor, something to encourage us when those seasons of life become very negative, very, very hurtful, very painful, very disillusioning, very discouraging, and oftentimes very hopeless, and at times we feel very helpless. …
