Glory to God
Alistair Begg, 2026-09-24

… then when we come to worship and someone says, Come, let us worship and bow down, let us kneel before the Lord our God, our Maker. Do you ever—do you worship and bow down in your heart as you drive your car? I hope you do. I hope you regularly kneel before God in prayer as an act of subjugation before him, as a reminder that when I kneel down in prayer, it is only God, by his grace, that will ever allow me to stand back up on my feet again. Before we're too quick to dash off into the practicalities, to charge to the bookstores for another how-to book, to try and fix that and try and fix the next thing of our lives, we're charging past the very place where the answers to our dilemmas are first catered to. He is powerful, he is perfect, and he is therefore praiseworthy. To him, he says, be honor and might forever. Amen. Not to us be the glory that's due your name. …

Jesus on Worship
Alistair Begg, 2026-07-29

… you'll be there for a very long time as they explain to you how they are. And how they are may not be addressed by what they think they need, but rather, come, let us worship and bow down. Let us kneel before the Lord, our Maker. For he is our God, and we are the people of his pasture. I certainly am not a fan of, bring your coffee, sit back, relax, let's see what we have for us today. No, it should be sit up, pay attention. Because the service of worship is actually framed by the gospel itself. We begin, holy, holy, holy, you are the Lord God Almighty. we confess our sin, we give thanksgiving to God for pardon, we then make use of the means of grace. Assemble the people, says God to Moses. Assemble the people that they might hear my word, that they might listen and that they might learn, them and their children and their children with them. In other words, the reason for gathering is in order that we might hear from God. You say, wait a minute, this is about worship. Of course. But what God has said to us is more significant than anything we might ever say to him. That is why we assemble to hear, to listen. …

Praise & Worship - Part 3
John K. Jenkins Sr., 2025-08-07

… And Psalm 95, 6 says, O come, let us worship and bow down. Let us kneel before the Lord, our maker. Amen. It's okay to kneel down. It's okay to bow before his presence. You can kneel, you can bow, you can lay down prostrate, lay down flat on your face before God is a form of worship. Hallelujah. Can I get an amen right there from somebody? This is a Hebrew word, again, from Psalm 95 and 6, let us come, oh, come, let us worship and bow down, let us kneel, kneel, kneel before our maker. It is a way for us to worship God. Here's number three, number three, number three, number three. I want to talk about hands, your hands, your hands, your hands. There's a multitude of verses, I'm sorry, there's a multitude of Hebrew words that are used to talk about what to do with your hands. Psalm 47 and 1, Psalm 47 and 1 says, oh clap your hands all you peoples. Shout to God with the voice of triumph. Somebody say clap your hands. That's a way to worship God by clapping. Hallelujah. Hey, listen to that noise, that, listen to that, that, that, that sound. It means something to God when you make the sound. If you did it by yourself, it don't mean anything. Wait, hold up before y'all clap. This is why this is so important. This is why worship, corporate worship, because you can only make this kind of a noise when you are in a corporate environment. …
