Aaron Andrade | Genuine Repentance
Aaron Andrade, 2026-08-17

… public. It's shameful. He spends the first part of Psalm 51 examining and hating it, but watch the language shift starting in verse 7. He says, purge me with hyssop and I shall be clean. Wash me and I shall be whiter than snow. Do you hear the confidence there? It's a confidence in God's power and his ability to forgive and to cleanse. That's why we turn. Because we know that God has the power to actually cleanse us. Think about these verses and just let them wash over you if you're struggling with genuine repentance. Here's 1 Timothy 1 15. This is a trustworthy saying. Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners. John 3 17. God of mercy, as we enter into Lent, may your spirit guide us to places we might not necessarily want to go. We turn to you because you, O Lord, have the words of life. Help us to hear what you have to say and grant us the courage to live it out. This we pray in Christ's name. Amen. repent and thou shall be saved. Is that what you came here to hear today? I mean, is life going well with you? When you look out at the world, is it as it should be? Do you find yourself crying out to God in fear or because of injustice? Do you hope that God would finally come and fix all that is broken? You wonder, when will the day of the Lord get here so that we can have peace and justice for all? be careful what you wish for the prophet Joel proclaims that the day of the Lord is coming and is near however he goes on to describe the day as one of darkness and gloom on that day there will be a great and powerful army but it is not to bring liberation and freedom to the oppressed. …

The Book of 2 Samuel
Francis Chan, 2017-04-03

… behold you delight in truth in the inward being and you teach me wisdom in the secret heart purge me with hyssop and I shall be clean wash me and I shall be whiter than snow let me hear joy and gladness let the bones that you have broken rejoice Hide your face from my sins and blot out all my iniquities. Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me. cast me not away from your presence, take not your Holy Spirit from me, restore to me the joy of your salvation, and uphold me with a willing spirit. Then I will teach transgressors your ways, and sinners will return to you. Deliver me from blood guiltiness, O God, O God of my salvation, and my tongue will sing aloud of your righteousness. O Lord, open my lips, and my mouth will declare your praise, for you will not delight in sacrifice or I would give it. You will not be pleased with a burnt offering. …
